Would definately love an analog compass plus one of those bubble roll axis balls. Probably though, something like that could be made as an aftermarket accessory that attaches.... somewhere... ?
Odo and trip meter should be easily visible on the drivers screen, I agree
I'm quite sure within the Crash Monitoring System and/or Vehicle Dynamic controls, there is an inclinometer who's value could be displayed on either screen via a multi-color bar graph including digital values

"Charge using Solar" in the mobile app like the current Tesla integration, which is awesome!

This is totally true, but a simple plastic bubble with a floaty ball with a weight is a nice analog solution....I like simple stuff that isnt electric/potentially draining. While I love EV's and Rivians in particular, I absolutely hate the using of screens to do most of the work (hence no tesla for me ever) - I want buttons to mash too! The new Telo looks cool for that reason (interior is cheap and therefore cheap looking) but I do love me some buttons

Great idea - I like the Zappi v2.1 for this application but it's reliability is known to be sketchy (and someone on YT ripped one apart and wasn't impressed with the build quality). If the Rivian charger is going to be able to sense solar it'll either need to speed some kind of common language with the inverter or use CT clamps - does anyone know if the rivian charger comes with ct clamps?

Given that Rivian is wisely adopting the Tesla NACS, solar support should simply be an API integration in the Rivian mobile app. Netzero has a good third-party integration and app for Tesla APIs.

Some good ideas from everyone. Personal priorities:

- Higher electrical output than the 1500 watts that the R1 is limited to - be great to double or triple that. And true Vehicle to House power would be a major plus. I think that could be a big selling point as emergency backup power if implemented well.

- More than just whitish and blackish interior color options - would love to see Forest Edge, which is what I have and really like in my R1T

- Although it would be great to have the front passenger seat fold flat as shown in the demo version, it sounds like federal rules will prohibit that (would have been great for individual car camping and hauling lumber). I hope at least the seat can tilt forward fairly far to make it easier to carry long objects.

- Better HVAC system than the R1 has - less noisy and easier to use. The current HVAC system in my 2022 R1T is probably my only real gripe with my vehicle.

- Better glass in the front windshield that is more resistant to damage.

- Keep the green exterior color option (or at least be sure to have 5-7 colors and not just black, white, red and gray like some manufacturers seem to do).

I repeat myself, but it's really nagging on me. Planning the next trip in our Skoda Yeti (from Switzerland to Portugal, 2 weeks +) and what I really would like in my next car are
Fold-Flat Front Seats, please!
Probably beating a dead horse, but still: Dongfeng can do flat front seats in their "Box" which is coming to Europe:

An R2 with non-fold-flat front seats is Rivian's broken promise that hurts me the most. Being able to sleep flat in the car would add so much value.

From what I heard there may be two reasons why they didn't. One may or may not have been a safety issue somewhere. It changes whether its true or and who's standard it may be causing an issue US or Europe. The second reason was maybe a change of priorities. Where they decided to compromise the folding seats for a more plush seating material to appeal to a larger audience. As much as adventure bros want this to be the ultimate off-roading/adventure vehicle and as much as Rivian would love that, Rivian desperately needs the economy of scales and hit mainstream to survive. Some complaints with the R1 is that the seats are a bit too firm. So they may have gone with something more plush. Just rumors I've heard. Won't know until the seats are officially out.
