I have plenty of pictures, although most have already been posted at the previous shows or by other sources.

Beautiful shot of Forest Green! That would look amazing with a saddle brown interior :)

I assume the cost to step down the voltage from the high-voltage battery to low-voltage (12 volts) is more than having a separate battery, which is why Tesla and Rivian are still adding a 12-volt battery.
My understanding is that R2 is generating 12V from the high-voltage battery in order to provide redundant 12V supplies for door opening, using the two different battery sources. What is unclear is whether the R2 also supports that functionality for other 12V loads when the vehicle is powered down.

I suspect they may do because the R2 trunk 12V "cigarette lighter" socket is rated for 180W. If you pull that much power from the socket with the vehicle switched off then you might significantly impact the charge level on the 12V battery and prematurely age it if done regularly. For reference two halogen bulbs, i.e. traditional headlamps would take around 120W plus or minus and would probably flatten a 12V battery if left on all day.

I went today (Friday) and attended the walk around with Erik Glaser, Director of UX Design. The 30 minute talk and even the 30 minute Q&A were very interesting. He talked about a lot of things related to all their vehicles including design details such as the Haptic Touch, the 12Volt battery, the clamshell frunk on the R2 to meet European regulators, and the regulation noise maker. Definitely worth listening to if you enjoy this level of detail.
Went back today with wife, and caught the first half of this talk, really enjoyed it. Thanks for the tip!

Would kill for that or something tan. I’ll have to settle for coastal cloud.
Yeah, I really do love the CC interior, you know, years ago, if someone suggested a light/white interior, I would've laughed at them, but now, after having it a few times, I kind of love it.

I mean, I would also consider any non-black, though I'd would think about black with a different exterior option like a bright/vivid yellow or orange. I had a black Mustang vert with a red interior, and replaced that with a Mustang vert with a black interior, but a killer orange exterior (Orange Fury).

I did have a nice light grey interior on my 2016 Hyundai Sonata years ago and loved it. Hoping coastal cloud is actually a light grey and not white.

Yes, the Forest Green was striking

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland: I still think the wood trim and wheel, the dark brown leather dash and uppers, and light brown leather seats and doors is still one of the best interiors! Obviously the electronics in my 2011 vehicle are not on par with modern display technologies.

Note the damage to the driver seat from the high position. This should not be the case in the R2 as noted in my original post.

You really need to see the color fabric palette swatches
The CC is nice and a 180 tit-for-tat of the black crater

After seeing the colors in person, my choices have changed. Forest Green is by far the best, but I really don't want to wait until "late 2026" for it... but since I am not an R1 owner, my 3/7/24 reservation doesn't really mean much it seems. I was told that I'll be after all of them, so I might be looking at a Forest Green anyway. If by some freak chance my number comes up earlier, then Half Moon Grey is my choice. It wasn't even a consideration, but it looks damn good in person.
The only real reason I would get Launch Green now is because they will supposedly not offer it again after the Launch Edition... which would make it stand out somewhat from all the other colors in the coming years.

I saw my first R2 in the wild this afternoon in Hayward! The color was probably Half Moon Grey as it seemed to dark to be Esker Silver. The glare from my windshield impacted the picture quality.

It was being driven by an owner (we chatted during the red light).

my pictures and takes from the palo alto block party:

catalina cove r2 had no x in vin, assuming it is production model.
front windows have laminated/acoustic glass.
Rivian R1T R1S R2 Block Party (Palo Alto) IMG_2589

rear windows and rear windshield/drop glass are single layer/regular non acoustic glass.

some interior materials/touch points worse than model y premium (better than model y standard), as compared below. slight disappointment since model y premium costs less, but cant complain when bmw is an even bigger offender with current g45 x3. i would say r2 interior is almost on par with audi e-tron/q8 e-tron. macan ev interior slightly better but not by much and is worse than gas macan. these are more expensive vehicles so i can't complain too much about r2. all the european automakers have been lowering their interior material quality and the r2 is on par with the competition in the price point. tesla did a great job with model 3 and y premium interiors especially with attention to detail like for the lower b pillar with soft touch materials and also the laminated/acoustic glass for every single window. i think genesis gv60 also has nicer interior surfaces.

personally not too much of a dealbreaker for me but still prefer model y materials. overall interior design of r2 surpasses model y. i doubt most people care about this as much.
