R1S windshield is a magnet for rocks

I've had my R1T for less than 3 weeks and I don't know if it's just ridiculous bad luck or what but 2 chips in my windshield already. I've had them both filled but this isn't giving me much confidence in the quality of "this" particular windshield. My driving behavior hasn't changed either, both happend on the freeway/tollway settings. Frustating and really have soured my admitedly very early ownership experience with this vehicle.

Sometimes they drive close to me. Sometimes I have to pass.

Plus, there are some parts of the country (influenced by big cities like LA) where NOT driving closely is considered to be a mark of rudeness or poor skills....

Or it’s actually dangerous because people will cut you off and do very forced maneuvering to go around you. There are some cities, Milwaukee comes to mind, where if you do not drive aggressively you will most likely have someone hit you cutting you off.

the upright windshield angle

I'm going to call BS. Sure, the angle is *a* factor, but glass quality may be a bigger factor. My Ford E350 has a more upright windshield than does my R1T.
I bought the van used; its windshield had no cracks (I think it had genuine Ford glass) when I bought it. I drove it for several years without a crack or chip (probably well over 50,000 miles), before I finally got a chip. I had the windshield replaced by Safelite; but then got another chip in less than 4 months.
I bought my R1T 19 months ago. I've had, if I recall, 4 chips and star cracks, and one crack that runs to the edge of the glass (behind the visor) on the passenger side. I have repaired or attempted to repair these, to extend the time before it becomes necessary to have the windshield replaced.

I'm having Exoshield windshield protection installed in a few weeks, and I've heard good and bad things. If it saves one replaced windshield it pays for itself 3x.

Two things can be true.

First the Rivian glass is not as good as other vehicles and the cracks seem to spread faster.
Two Rivian's windshield is fairly upright so it has a higher chance of the projectile putting enough force to crack/chip the windshield.

I had a Nissan Xterra for 130K miles and had a couple small chips from things hitting the windshield. The R1S first rock that hit it caused a large crack (300 miles) that was spreading until it was filled. Both of these vehicles have more upright windshields but I felt the Xterra held up better.

I compare this to my Subaru Ascent were I see more rocks chips in the front grill and hood but the rocks seem to easily bounce off the windshield because of the angle.

So was my Mercedes and Tesla. My 3 week old Tesla got hit with a rock from a Jeep with overgrown tires. Month 5 and my R1T hasn't been hit...... yet. I stay back from Jeeps, Semis and Dump trucks.

I have two large cracks on the passenger side that popped up yesterday - how do I get it replaced - the front windshield - I have Safelite and Liberty Mutual.

Ive been on Range Rover forums for years and Tesla Model X forums for years... every single forum has several posts about X car being a rock magnet.
