Long story short, I had a VIN assigned with 8 steps completed and vehicle in-transit for the last 10 days. As I was pulling into the service center to see if it had arrived, my guide texted me that my VIN had been unassigned, though couldn't tell me why. The service center said they haven't received any Rivians recently because transit mode had shifted from truck to rail. I was told I'll have to start over and wait for a new VIN to be assigned.
I could get super frustrated about the process, but at the end of the day there's nothing I can do about it. So I might as well have fun and try to figure out who got my R1S!
Based on all the evidence, I'm fairly confident they must have put my R1S on the wrong train, and after realizing it wasn't headed to Salt Lake City, decided to assign it to someone in California (or wherever that train ended up going). So with that said, has anyone recently been assigned VIN 1187? El Cap, BM interior, 20" AT with no underbody.
As a small consolation prize would love to at least solve the mystery. Also open to other theories on where it went.
