Great idea!

I had a Honda Element years ago and it was perfect for our dogs because the rear seats could either be removed or flipped up on the sides in just a few minutes. We threw a couple dog beds in there and they were traveling in style.
I had an Element too! That was one of the best cars in terms of design functionality… but driving/braking left much to be desired!

Oh those brakes were trash!

Some of the cool features our EVs have reminds me a bit of the Element's functionality. Specifically the frunk and gear tunnel.

What's the best way to disconnect this? I figured the white connector (tab is below on the left, fingernail didn't do it, but once you figure out the mechanism you can use any small tool ).

Is the black connector reusable? Or do I have to cut it?

I wonder if anyone has tried removing the passenger seat of the R1T. Without the seat you could cut a piece of plywood to stretch out on and you could sleep in the passenger side quite comfortably. Even if it isn't possible, you might be able to build a platform above the seat. Instant bunk bed!

Don't let me kids see this. They're going to start expecting pre-departure champagne served to go with their insane legroom.

So cool thanks for sharing. My kids like to put the second row down and sit in the 3rd row, which is my 6'10" nephew's favorite way to ride with us (unless he's driving). This is a versatile vehicle. I'm sure several folks will see this post and remove the 3rd row to provide more storage room for those who don't use the 3rd row...

Very very cool!!! Definitely a fan of that!!! If kids are sitting back there, please do be careful of who or what is behind you, all you guys, not only meant for the op. Had a V8 Nissan Pathfinder and the kids decided they wanted to sit back there on a whim when mom was driving (wasn’t anything she did but she obviously felt bad it happened) and it just so happened that a Wrangler rear ended them hard and got very lucky nobody got hurt but was close. Wouldn’t have expected a 3300lb Wrangler to be able to make for such a close call that way on a 5100lb Pathfinder but it was…. Couldn’t help but make my first post a trolling nanny post but it is what came to mind-although I do love that setup! Just trying to be helpful…

Very nice! Thanks for posting!

I anticipate we would need our second row more often than would make this feasible for us, but it does now make me wonder about removing the third row of seats for more storage. We just did our first winter camping trip and had plenty of room even with both seat rows installed, but I can see the third row removal still being very nice for ease of loading/unloading, and keeping gear from blocking the rear window.

Has anyone tried removing the third row? (Where to store them in my garage then becomes the next question.....)

I wish the gear tracks in the back were in the second Row so i could anchor my dog in if i take the second row out.

I’m thinking of doing the single seat And putting a bed down for him…while retaining the other two just in case i need the seating. Might be a good happy medium

That’s a cool idea. I’ll have to see. I take delivery in a month.
He does way better on the fully flat floor of my f150 I just sold! So fingers crossed this works as well!

D-Ring that attach to the bolt, and extra nuts to protect the bolt. Then a carpet with slits cut for the D-ring.

You need some padding as the floor is not flat after seat removal.
