I was wondering about the cross bars - it sounds like they didn't do enough engineering there.

But the door wind noise has been widely reported with R1Ts and I'm surprised they haven't come up with a fix for this in almost a year.
Yeah, I haven't figured out yet if it's the crossbars making the high pitched whistle (ie it's more than just wind noise) or it's where the cross bars push the air onto the roof. The fact I put covers on the bars and still hear it suggests the latter. More work to do.

Regarding fixes, I was hoping that despite having a low VIN R1S many of the R1T lessons would be integrated in the SUV.

For reference my 2015 LR4 has (appears to have) less wind noise (granted that ICE covers it up). And my 2020 Sprinter with all kinds of things hanging off it doesn't whistle down the road!

Your crossbars may be installed backwards......They usually have a front and rear to them.

Are you sure you have every vent turned on? Other posters mentioned their vehicles were delivered with some vents in the off position requiring the owner to manually turn them back on.
I have the upper vents on. I seldom use the lower vents. In my area of SoCal interior temps when it’s hot out reach 115 degrees.

Crossbar wind noise is a crap shoot. The stock roof rack on my FJ Cruiser had very thin, aerodynamic crossbars that could be located, at will. If one of them was anywhere near the front of the rack, it made a racket. Move it back two feet and nothing. On the same FJ, I now have a full, aftermarket roof rack with a hard shell RTT mounted. It makes NO discernible noise. Go figure. The rack does incorporate a wind deflector that may help, but still……

2. Haven’t figured out how to shorten the adaptive cruise distance.
I wish they’d put dynamic labels for what the steering wheel controls do at any given moment in, say, the lower corners of the driver’s display. Having to memorize what they do in each circumstance isn’t the height of user-friendliness. I can see trailer brake control being sketchy or forgotten the first time someone tows.

I found a thread talking about crossbar whistle (but at another site I guess this one doesn't allow links to). So not just my setup with the issue. I tried painters tape in a few areas without luck.

That's probably your issue. Other posters commented that their AC only cools off quickly if they turn on all the vents. Also make sure your rear vents are on.

I've also seen posts by multiple people that their R1 was delivered low on freon, so that's a possibility as well.

Good luck sorting it out whatever the problem is.

In my R1T to drown out the air-conditioning fan noise, the cross bar noise, my bed cover creaking noise and the annoying slow moving electric vehicle noise, I just turn up my Sirius XM Radio... oh wait...

I'm experiencing the wind noise issue as well, although less so then what I had in my Tesla. Over build is solid expect for the roof. Found a loose trim piece and the overall fit and finish on top is poor. Same story on the air compressor. I mentioned it at delivery as being an issue called out in the forums and the rep laughed saying he hadn't heard that one yet. I also have the steering wheel alignment issue that others have mentioned. Has to be slightly to the left to run straight. First service appointment coming up Oct 28th!
