Thanks for the info. Are you on a 100amp circuit, vs the "standard" 60amp circuit?
it's 100 amp from my main panel to a subpanel (backhaul is 2awg SER), then 2 branch circuits (60 amp each in the panel) from the subpanel (each using 3x6awg THHN for 2 hots + ground)

That's a lot of juice, really no need to load balance in that config. Your vehicles would not drop pull during charging, so you wouldn't experience this issue. Thanks for the info!

Helps that I live where I do. No AC at my place and 200a service. Load calcs were pretty straightforward, my normal load is roughly 1 kw (or 4 kw when the oven is running) 😀.

I now realize this happens even if my Tesla MY “wakes up” while connected to the G3 WC with the R1T charging on the UWC.

@Lester Green any updates from your Rivian service request? Mines gone quiet.

Rivian mobile service is coming tomorrow. I will provide an update tomorrow afternoon.

I see the same issue when my Model 3 wakes up. That's why I "hard-coded" charging windows in all my cars. The Tesla's can charge during the day, the Rivian only at night. It works, but not ideal.

Anyone else’s Rivian not adjusting amperage from the app? If I adjust the amperage in the app to say 36 amps, the car doesn’t adjust. It’s always done it before

Rivian mobile service came today and fixed my squeaky door handles. He was great, but did not have any suggestions or information on the charging issues. I will try to contact Rivian by phone tomorrow.

Is there a way to limit charging to a given number of KW's.. I can charge at home with a Telsa Gen3 Wall charger. The issue is that my Solar and PW3's only have an excess of about 15 KW/ day, if I take more than that I start pulling from the grid ($$). I am looking for a way to tell the R1S that it should only take say 12 KW then stop. The new enegry app lets me set a time schedule but not a current limit.
Any Ideas...

There is a way to limit the charge rate in the app and in the vehicle UI. It’s probably better to start a new thread on your specific question.

The leader has a programmed 48 amps maximum yes?
Are both the chargers capable of this full amount and set up as such?

If so I want to suggest setting the program to tell the charger it is on a 40 amp breaker and so as to limit charging to 32 amps. I speculate this will allow the two chargers to better balance the charge levels and hopefully avoid the error. If it works bump it to 50 amp breaker.

I set up four wall connectors (1 leader, 3 followers) at work with each on 40 amp feeder but share a max of 100 amps. No issues.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don’t want to limit to 32 amps, as that is a workaround, rather than a fix. I know from personal experience that two Teslas can charge at the same time with no issues. Allowing the full 48 amps when available on either car at any time should work.

No progress yet. I provided the details that Tesla requested, and I have not heard back. I also opened a new service request with Rivian and provided them with more details including pictures and video.

It sounds like a software bug on Rivian's side. I think the best you could hope for is an update that fixes it.

Yes I thought it may help to diagnose the issue. Not a permanent solution.

After installing 2025.22.30 today and attempting to charge in the middle of the day at home, the highest I could charge was at 24 amps. As I mentioned before I have a schedule that allows charging overnight, but I did press the charge now button. The charge started at 24 amps and the option to raise the amperage was grayed out. This occurred whether a car was plugged into the other wall connector or not. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this yet.
