Wanted to share some pics from my first camping trip in the Rivian!
Morro Rock is beautiful and Pismo is amazing to be able to drive on the sand! Will definitely be back.
Firstly, this truck is a road trip and camping beast! The ride, handling, suspension, driver Assist, etc make for the most pleasant highway cruiser I've ever driven. Just eats up the miles.
I packed all our gear into the truck and the gear tunnel was a game changer for space. Have way more room than my previous Colorado.
Note: My gear tunnel door has creased from light use as others have experienced. Be careful and don't push on the top edges.
Driving on the sand was super cool! Everyone was gawking at the R1T and it was good advertising as I trolled up and down the beach quietly. I did a couple quad motor turns in the sand, but nothing too crazy. It was a busy day and the outer areas were closed. Will be back!
Charging was annoying. I only needed 1 stop each way.
First one, truck couldn't see availability and they were full, went to the next stop which worked fine (EA).
On the way home was frustrated with the EVgo charger. Shared a 350kw unit but only got 80kw.
Still only took about 30 min each way to charge up and get home. I will get better at picking my charge stops.
Love this truck so much! Got to plug in my coffee maker to brew a nice pot in the morning and really just enjoy driving it! Camp courtesy mode was a nice touch, no blinding other people at night. Auto level is such a cool feature for less level adventures. Truck is a home run.
