Wanted to share some pics from my first camping trip in the Rivian!
Morro Rock is beautiful and Pismo is amazing to be able to drive on the sand! Will definitely be back.

Firstly, this truck is a road trip and camping beast! The ride, handling, suspension, driver Assist, etc make for the most pleasant highway cruiser I've ever driven. Just eats up the miles.

I packed all our gear into the truck and the gear tunnel was a game changer for space. Have way more room than my previous Colorado.
Note: My gear tunnel door has creased from light use as others have experienced. 😭 Be careful and don't push on the top edges.

Driving on the sand was super cool! Everyone was gawking at the R1T and it was good advertising as I trolled up and down the beach quietly. I did a couple quad motor turns in the sand, but nothing too crazy. It was a busy day and the outer areas were closed. Will be back!

Charging was annoying. I only needed 1 stop each way.
First one, truck couldn't see availability and they were full, went to the next stop which worked fine (EA).
On the way home was frustrated with the EVgo charger. Shared a 350kw unit but only got 80kw.
Still only took about 30 min each way to charge up and get home. I will get better at picking my charge stops.

Love this truck so much! Got to plug in my coffee maker to brew a nice pot in the morning and really just enjoy driving it! Camp courtesy mode was a nice touch, no blinding other people at night. Auto level is such a cool feature for less level adventures. Truck is a home run.

Thanks for sharing! This trip looks awesome. I've never gotten a chance to drive on a beach before but its on the bucket list for sure. Might have to take a page from your book and visit Pismo soon.

Am I the only one who is appalled by the gear tunnel door creasing? WTF? This is a $90K truck. It should be able to withstand someone opening and closing the gear tunnel doors.

You aren't the only one... Clearly they mis-judged that panel design. I asked if they were going to release a guideline on how NOT to bend it like Tesla did with their thin hoods. (I have been pretty gentle with the doors.)

Thx for sharing!! My wife and I had parked north of your location in our R1T to walk the dog through Morro strand. We actually walked by your setup at campground!. We decided (after seeing your tent) to seriously consider a rooftop tent and have purchased a Condor Overland tent and can't wait to camp. We live nearby the campground and will trial run there once we get it. Pismo is a blast and fun to watch everyone look at your R1T. Sounds like you had a great trip!!
For the gear tunnel door, I have had mine since 9/22 and will certainly be cautious but nothing to report yet. Cheers!

Brilliant! Thanks for letting the rest of us vicariously live through these photos, while we Wait for our R1s. I wish there was a sticky for photos like this. Cheers.

Wow very cool! the Condor tent I've heard is a great option. Too bad I missed you, always good to chat with a fellow Rivian owner. Maybe a Rivian Pismo day is in order. 🤔

Anytime! I'll try to share more trips on this forum throughout the year.
