Ugh, that stinks. If it's any consolation, most (all?) of the Rivian body panels are aluminum so I don't think rust is going to be a real issue for body panels. Rivian has not been on the market long enough for non-OEM panels to be available. You can rest assured it will be Rivian factory components.
Same. Pretty frustrating to not even have a guide yet. Also need to get charger delivered and installed. I do have an R1S first mile event at the Austin SC this Friday, however. When they sent me the invite a couple weeks ago there were only two days available so perhaps that’s a good sign.
In Tony's AMA he said at the far end they are giving a 6 month window, I hope they can pin down these people to a window that large.
Yes, but do you really need an automated software that is integrated with the production scheduling software to narrow down a six month window to a 3 month window? Unless it gives 15-30 day granularity, in my mind it's wasted time and resources.
I agree it is losing value more and more as time progresses, it's certainly a factor less valuable now than it would have been when they first estimated it would exist. At this point it is practically a novelty tool, as well there theoretically should be a point where it has zero value when their production has ramped up.

Several of us here in the same boat. I'm still waiting on first guide contact, still logging into the site every evening just in case the "confirm config" email wasn't triggered automatically. I was really hoping for my R1S for a Thanksgiving road trip, now I'm planning to be flexible enough to fly to Normal or elsewhere in the last week of the year to get my truck. A $7500 tax credit can fund one heck of an end-of-year adventure.
Usually the drains are on the right side of the road and the crown is at the center when there is a median, as shown here. ie. road likely slopes right.
