I used to have owls living in the trees in my yard. Once, one dropped an almost-dead snake on my BMW. This BMW had already earned the nickname The Precious for its various drivetrain issues.

I took it as a bad omen and immediately sold it.

Seriously though, standing close enough to my R1S that it kept cycling locked and unlocked. I don't speak owl, but the ones in my woods did seem to get angrier and angrier.


PPS, RJ, GM seems to have banished me from the GM energy stuff I paid a lot of money for as a V2H system (Fuck GM), where is the Rivian system?

I did a little reading a while back. Great horned owls hoot to do one of these two things: booty call or claiming territory.

When I had the R1T set for the crow lock sound leading up to Halloween, I remember the crows in the parking lots of stores seeming to respond to truck’s lock sound. I don’t think I ever did repeated lock sounds, so didn’t get the chance to piss them off as well, but it was fun hearing them seemingly respond to the truck’s lock sound.

An owl ate my neighbor's dog, guessing he won't mind if I annoy them.

The owls at our place sometimes answer back, which is amusing. I don't think that a single hoot really bothers them.

Rivian hoot is based on the Eastern Screech Owl, which is the same species in our woods.

Glad it's not based on a horned owl, which is predatory to screech owls and could drive them out.

I think rat poison has killed most of the owls around here. It's been years since I've seen/heard one even though it used to be a regular occurrence.
