I actually did find a way to instigate the OTAs. I created a video to walk through the steps.

I’m not out camping but I figured I’d play around with camp mode a bit in the driveway.

Camp courtesy is nice as all exterior lighting turns off, but note that when you disable camp courtesy it doesn’t revert back to automatic headlights. I had to turn those back on separately.

The flood lights are actually great. I initially thought they were too dim, but I was thinking of them as driving lights. They are actually a good usable brightness for the area around the front fender without being too blinding. Definitely usable while camping. Also note that the entire light on the mirror lights up, not just the brighter LEDs in the corner.

My driveway is an incline and it was able to level itself from a -3 degrees to 0 (based on my phone) but it isn’t the fastest process. (It’s dark so the pictures below aren’t great, but they show the height difference front to back).

With the addition of the miles and % battery display and the alarm fix, this is a very neat update.

Well there is definitely an alarm now. I triggered the alarm from the app and the horn went off along with the flashing lights. It also recorded video that was saved under gear guard alarm.

I haven’t tested how it reacts to a door opening after being locked.

Also, the flood lights are neat, but they aren’t that bright.

I'm actually surprised they're that bright to be honest. You don't really want stupid bright lights when setting up a camp in the dark, nor just in general around a site at night. Cripples your night vision for some time.

The inverter sure enough has a countdown of 24 hours (by default, can be shorter) and then it appears it will go off. Does not matter if you drive or get in or out. I put in an email to Rivian customer service complaining. I keep food and drinks in a cooler in the bed of the truck plugged into the inverter. If that goes off and I forget to turn it on then I have rotten food and no cold drinks! What's the point of having a 135kwh battery when your parked and can't use it easily.

I have been running my inverter for 5 months strait with no issues, so why are they limiting it? Fire hazard? Inverter wearing out? Worried about the electronics plugged in overheating? Wearing out the 12v system or batteries?

I've been waiting for this. From driving a Tesla I've become accustomed to the SOC vs miles because the miles estimate was mostly useless.


EDIT: To add clarity, not to say that Rivian's implementation is useless, far from it actually. It's just nice to not have to go to a new screen in the infotainment system just to see a percentage.

Why over complicate things? Just set an alarm/timer on your phone or watch.

That would absolutely work, too. The alarm though has the advantage of telling everybody in case you miss the alert on your phone.
