Old vehicle cause for concern?

I just got a R1S from the shop (haven't taken delivery), and the VIN is 00431X . . . seems old. Should I be concerned? Am I getting a vehicle without improvements (and what would those be) or a reject? Any advice welcome! Thanks all.

Looking at C&B 4053 was a January 23 build, 431x is probably late January Early February.

I would not be concerned but then again I picked up an Oct 22 build in late January. I’ve been very happy with mine and am not so concerned about the incremental adjustments.

I hope so, it would be a huge bummer to arrive and have the vehicle have issues, be a 7-day return or something.

Also, I got allocated the car with VIN and was told its at the local SC but 3 days later haven't heard from my gude. I left a vm and email . . . does it usually take days to hear from them?

Over a long holiday weekend? This applies to any non-firework/burger business, yes.

I have a ‘22 R1T which I just got and it’s great. I was chatting with service and a lot of the small issues that early cars have been taken care of before delivery. I wouldn’t worry about it.

It's not like they have an expiration date of something. You'll be happy with the vehicle.

If it were me, I MIGHT consider it if a) the body fit/finish looked good (read: great), b) it has the Meridian sound system (just returned a loaner with it for my non-meridian and it is objectively better) and c) it has the cast subframe vs welded.

The Meridian is why I got the older one. pretty great, though hard to find in a R1T.

Been over a week and I can't get a guide to respond to calls or email. The general number has had me on hold for 45min and the chat feature has a wait time of an hour+ (58 people ahead of me) . . . ideas anyone?

I had a similar experience- right now they are under staffed - you can try calling the main support number and explain your situation- I got ghosted as well (he was sick, so he says) but if you call the main support number you could request another guide who is more attentive.

I didn’t switch guides, though some have. it really depends on what issues you need resolved. In my situation I got pretty itchy because I had to make some changes on my paperwork the week prior to my pickup.

The advice I was given, be firm but polite, and you’ll get what you need.

Agree, it might be a blessing to have a low VIN. Meridian sounds, 12volt inside cabin and frunk. Maybe wood surround the coat hook still?

Why not get it, see what you’ve got, check the fit and finish and then decide?
