The Borealis has been gone for a while now, the El Cap off the options is recent though.Checked the R1T/R1S configuraror today - looks like Rivian ditched El Cap and Borealis Purple across the board.
Thoughts?
Purple was limited release, but El Cap is a surprise given how nicely it matches the stock 20" all season wheels and how many I see on the road.Checked the R1T/R1S configuraror today - looks like Rivian ditched El Cap and Borealis Purple across the board.

It just seems so odd that it was so limited that they discontinued ordering it before any customer had received one! I'm sure some people wanted to see it in person before ordering. But nobody got that opportunity. On top of that, Borealis was always a limited-time color.
Limited edition products are quite frequently bought based on minimal marketing materials and faith. It just seems so odd that it was so limited that they discontinued ordering it before any customer had received one! Probably being replaced by the slate silver worn by R2 concept. Not surprising. Changing/updating paint options is a cheap and efficient way for any OEM to keep things fresh.Surprising about El Cap. Would only really make sense if there weren’t many takers. But I though this was a fairly popular color.
Do you think they're going to keep the LA Silver along with the new Silver seen on the R2?Probably being replaced by the slate silver worn by R2 concept. Not surprising. Changing/updating paint options is a cheap and efficient way for any OEM to keep things fresh.
They were in the wild for about a month while still available to order; first deliveries (in Seattle at least) were late December, and they were available to order through early February. But yeah, there's not very many out in the wild.It just seems so odd that it was so limited that they discontinued ordering it before any customer had received one! I'm sure some people wanted to see it in person before ordering. But nobody got that opportunity.
I suppose that’s true. I have to remind myself sometimes that these colors have been around about 4 years now. Seems like just yesterday….Probably being replaced by the slate silver worn by R2 concept. Not surprising.
