No Internet no Alexa

Alexa basic commands do not include asking her for directions, or having her make a phone call! Things that you would think would be basic and not require an internet connection, as these things have been available in most cars with a nav system and BT since ~2008! I finally just broke down and paid for the connect+ because of this....very frustrating to have to type in a destination to have nav work without connect+, and no hands free calling without it either.

I've gotten errors about Alexa not being able to do anything before Connect+ was even a thing. Didn't matter if I was connected to wifi or cell network. This typically happened after coming out to the truck overnight. It also has issues waking itself to receive remote commands or unlock using PaaK. I think my truck goes from sleep to coma at some point and it's difficult to get it back.

Because you don't pay for Connect+. That's the data plan for the truck. Just like your house; if you don't pay an ISP for service, you don't get internet.

If he is like me, then it’s not a matter of not paying. I have an active trial of Connect plus and I have the hotspot, Wi-Fi, etc. It works, but not all the time and it seems like even if you have multiple bars from the cellular signal it’s a saying that you don’t have any Internet connection.

Your situation is different. He was complaining about having to pay for Connect+.

Yes...I was complaining about paying for something that doesn't work. I sent a message to Rivian but they never replied. My credit card company refunded the charges in full. I'm using my phone for Internet and l have not had any issues.

Mine still doesn’t work with anything except Amazon Music which I don’t use/subscribe to. Also this shows when I try to add the truck in the Alexa phone app ?
