I think I had red on Reddit that it was a change made in January or February of this year. Heard it was a quieter compressor with bigger canister for less frequent running of the compressor. Not sure if these were retrofittable or not.

Here is what I got back from my guide - “From what I have been told by my leadership team, your vehicle has the upgrade (quieter, faster) air suspension tank and compressor. According to them, the vehicles were switched over to the newer compressors form mid-Feb tot he first week of March. “

I'm Feb build, I can hear my compressor but it doesn't bother me. Clueless if it's the "upgraded" one or not but it works so not important to me

Mine runs everytime there is a change in the suspension height. It’s really noticeable in my S, which was just built. I guess I have the old one.

I wonder if the new one can be replaced.

Should add mine is a ‘23, delivered early March

Build date is on the sticker in the door trim. My late March delivery was built in January. I doubt it has the upgrade since it seems to run as much as my R1T and is quite noticable.

If yours was delivered in early March then your build could be January (if it got shipped to your SC and not a factory pickup). You can check the label in the door jam to see what month yours was built. These changes were late Feb/early March so it sounds like you have the old one.

Yup, looks like 1/23 build. Which is confirmed by the continuous compressor noise.

Only time I hear it is when getting in the car and drive for the first 5 seconds (when it changed from kneel mode to standard). Is that new or old compressor? Got delivered in Mid march and also come with new rivian speakers.

Sounds like the new one. Mine also runs during a suspension change, but it’s for much longer - couple of minutes.

I have a 3/23 built R1S and do hear a series of "clicks and clacks" from the rear for a minute or so upon starting a drive. I assume this is the car raising from kneel (I am usually in all purpose, std ht). Is this the "compressor noise" you are referring to or something else?

The clicks & clacks are the valves themselves opening and closing to adjust the height. The compressor is more of a dull "brrrrrrrrrrrr" noise emanating from the rear.

im a 2/23 R1T build so no idea if i have the old or new compressor but what i do know is the air compressor in the bed is not accurate. i set it to 49psi inflated all my tires. 3 of the wheels came out to 48psi and 1 wheel came out to 54psi. at least if all 4 had been 48 that would make more sense.
