No longer the case. Tesla ramped production at Giga 2 to 8k units per week.Rivian has nothing to do with the timing of these. Tesla is the manufacturer and supplies them (and has been VERY slow making them and delivering them).
What do you mean it's no longer the case? That Tesla isn't the manufacturer? They are. And they need to ramp more, obviously. Look at the rationing Rivian is needing to do.No longer the case. Tesla ramped production at Giga 2 to 8k units per week.
It has always been made at Giga 2 (NY). Same factory where all Superchargers and solar roofs are made. Supercharger expansion has slowed significantly (paused even); Elmo's decision. Instead, they recently ramped production of adapters to 8K units per week. This news is about a month old and shared multiple times in this forum alone. Rate of distribution has already picked up and evident for those who have been paying attention. March '23 deliveries are now getting theirs. Some have them in hand already. Just a month or so, only deliveries up to Dec. '22 have been contacted to confirm their addresses. Next wave to be contacted will likely be up to Jun/Jul '23, and should be happening relatively soon. What do you mean it's no longer the case? That Tesla isn't the manufacturer? They are. Similar September 2023 delivery for a 10xxx VIN and no word since the first opt in email.April and September 2023 deliveries got opt in emails months ago, nothing since.
While it's true that production has been ramped up to 8,000 weekly, it may well be that the increase is due to GM. Tesla recently announced that GM electric vehicles are now supported at its SC's and GM is offering the adapter for purchase at $225.No longer the case. Your rep is more optimistic than the rep for my 9/27 delivery who just focused on the everyone by the end of January 2025:If you're taking delivery soon, check with your guide if you make the cutoff. They're telling people via text now.

I'm hoping that your rep is more accurate as I plan to do a short road trip mid/late October and I'm not buying a 3rd party NACS adapter at this point.Hi David! We are working hard to get NACS adapters into the hands of all of our owners. I learned just today that everyone will have their adapter by end of January 2025. You'll receive an email inviting you to opt in after you take delivery of your R1S.
