Launch Green is metallic?

I stopped by the sales center in Bethel Park PA to see the Launch Green & Esker silver in person. Both colors are nice. I know I have seen online that Launch Green is a non-metallic but it certainly looks to have some sort of flake in the paint.

Launch Green definitely has flake in it.

There's definitely some metallic flakes in it. I'd say it's a happy medium partway between a true metallic paint and a flat paint color. Whatever it is, it's gorgeous.

Only non-metallic Rivian paint is glacier white. Whoever said LG isn’t is wrong.

Does anyone have experience with owning an R1 in LG? I keep going back and forth between LG and Catalina (maybe even Borealis, if I can be courageous enough). I’m leaning towards LG, but I’m worried how the paint style will react to scratches, dings, etc. I know it has a clear coat, but my cars have still gotten their fair share of deep cuts from reckless people in parking lots.

it's not like it's a matte finish. why would it be any different than any other medium metallic color. silvers and medium grays tend to hide dirt and imperfections pretty well; I would assume LG is similar to those colors

LG has significantly less metallic flakes to give it the muted, almost flat looking appearance. The more metallic a color, the more light it tends to reflect, helping hide minor scratches and dings. Since the common misconception from photos is that LG is matte, it’s hard to interpret the level of metallic actually in the paint.

I would like to see an R1 side by side with R2 in LG. I think they are completely different shades. I love my R2 in LG, I just have a memory of the R1 in LG being darker.
