I kind of want to try kneel mode now to drop it to a super low stance and give it a pro street look. Obviously not drive it like that though.
Lol! That was a comment made to me by a coworker, "Dude, your truck look slammed! What's the deal? It's like lowering a Raptor; what's the point?!" In which I answered, "So the ladies can exit graciously without flashing the bystanders..." ?

Said every Land Rover owner... Until we changed out blown bags around 100k miles.

I stopped using kneel a month back after a similar warning and accidently bottoming out at the cabin.
I stopped using it when it almost dropped the front end onto a low wall infront of me in a parking spot and I then thought...yeh....I dont need this feature on.

Personally I didn't buy this truck for off-road anything I bought it because it's stupid fast. So making a pro street version would be cool with me. With the way the handles retract into the doors it is pretty close.

I wish we had the option of regular springs. I'd take it in a heart beat.

A vocal minority of early Range Rover owners go that way … replacing air with iron.
It's always been a scam. A way for people selling parts to sell to "hard core" off-roaders.

Just put it in sport, lowest height. It is lower than it is supposed to go in kneel mode. Of course these issues seem to drop it lower than even lowest, though I have never seen this happen. I'm looking forward to finally getting sliders installed so I can turn off kneel mode for good.

My suspension noises only started after turning on kneel mode and having it run for about a week. I have since turned it off. I remember a Rivian tech saying while the suspension system should be able to handle kneel mode, maybe not to use it.. now I see why. Looking forward to getting some running boards. Without a A pillar grab handle it’s pretty tough for my wife to get in the truck at standard height, where I usually keep it.

It seems like sometimes it isn't fast enough to recover to a normal suspension height, but in this case it seemed to glitch out thinking it was already at the right height. I think I had the truck sitting all weekend before this happened and it was the only time I've noticed it happening. I still regularly use kneel and haven't had it re-occur.

I was thinking this and in general wonder if there is any significant harm that would occur by repeatedly putting the truck in low (in any drive mode) when parked? Leaving it there until re-entering? I know it is not convenient but I would do so when wife/kids are entering exiting?

Someone would have to verify but when you use kneel mode, the truck doesn't come out of it until after you switch into drive or reverse. I suspect the truck would start to re-fill the air suspension immediately after coming out of wake for a particular drive mode instead of requiring motion, but it's been a while since I've turned kneel off.

On one instance I had the dreaded uneven suspension occur after using kneel mode where the driver side front suspension was down a few inches compared to all other wheels, i could actually feel it while driving, it was concerning. But, after cycling through off-road and low height modes it seemed to resolve the issue. Could all be software and the vehicle is under warranty, but in SoCal at least if service visits are needed it's months of wait. For now, I am just helping shorter passengers into the vehicle :CWL: until I get running boards.

That is what it does when I enable it this mode from beginning but after a week it stay in kneeling mode while in drive, good thing I noticed and manually change to normal height.
Adding this to my service appointment in middle of May.

Had this happen this morning. Except I don’t think I caught the trim… I hope. Have been using kneel mode since it came out and this is the first time I have ever seen that error.

I believe it is 5 or 6mph to come out of kneel mode. I've used kneel exclusively for about 6 weeks without issue...Feb '23 build date 20" AT.

I don’t think it’s a scam in that they do what is advertised: eliminate a complex air suspension which provides variable ride height, load-leveling, and a fantastic combination of ride comfort/handling/off-road capability. In exchange you get lower maintenance costs.

I’m focused on value so the complex suspension is well worth it to me but some people focus strictly on cost and they find the steel springs to be the right solution for them.

Our LR3 has about 248K miles and has required two air suspension repairs since we bought it at 109K miles: new air springs around 125K miles and a new front distribution block/manifold at around 205K miles. I think we spent about $6,000 on the air suspension in total over 139K miles which is totally worth it to me for the benefits it provides over the years and miles.
