Could well be mine! I accidentally left the poles on the tonneau cover when I left Mt. Bachelor one day and got home to find only a single pole had made it back with me.

However, whenever I think of Adopt-A-Highway cleanup, I’m reminded of this classic Seinfeld episode where Kramer decides to make 4 lanes into 2 for the driver’s comfort.
