I just run off the new ones in the bed. I run a 12v fridge and accessories to charge phones and run lights. I haven’t had any problems. I connected to the 12v port so I could still control all the ports through the vehicle camp mode. I also ran a little higher gauge wire so I didn’t have a voltage drop. Hope this helps.

Well, it's been a while without any updates, so here goes a few of them.

First, I don't have the same truck as pictured here anymore. To sum up what could become a negativity-pit, Rivian repurchased my truck from me after significant service center visits.

Second, the very next day I flew to LA and picked up this gen1 demo quad motor:
Rivian R1T R1S k3g's R1T build thread A41C9FA1-DCBA-42EF-9487-7A77ECA9414E_1_105_c

The config is basically the same as my first truck: Quad motor large pack, reinforced underbody, dark AT's. Major difference is this truck's interior is Forest Edge. None of the concerning creaks, brake failures, rattles, fit issues, etc are present on this truck. It's a completely blank slate, with 100% of my trust reestablished (within reason of course) in driving a Rivian around.

The very next day I threw my ProSpeed rack and roof tent right onto the new truck (no wiring yet for the lights) and got some borrowed kayaks on top for an adventure:

Now, this is a build thread, so here's a new thing I built! I liked the idea of the bungee net in the frunk, but the execution left a bit to be desired. Nothing a 3D scan can't solve...
Rivian R1T R1S k3g's R1T build thread 27053B6C-982D-4D7C-AA00-32149EA3B3B3_1_105_c

This one turned out even better than I expected.
Rivian R1T R1S k3g's R1T build thread 77C74AD5-1844-432C-ADC3-E4D7DF2A87BD_1_105_c

It's three pieces of laser cut 5052, black powder coat, with stainless steel PEM nuts pressed into the outer pieces. The corners clear the false floor nicely when you're folding it up. It holds bungee cords too, to hold a single object in place when you're dabbling in sport mode on the way to the local pot luck.

I've got three organizer pouches on it so far, one for my NACS adapter, one with pens/allen wrenches/tire pressure gauge/other bullshit like that. The middle is a dump pouch. My thinking there is it's an easy collapsible bag for muddy shoes or something else.

Two questions:
1: who made the fog light film on your previous truck? it looks more amber than what twraps offers.
2: how can i buy a frunk molle panel? ?

If you’re interested, another option for bungee cords is https://thebetterbungee.com/

Really wish Rivian had installed the same track system in the frunk that is in the cargo area of the r1s.

Fiarly certain it's this, just cut to size. There was a similar post ages ago with an owner opting for the orange film over the TWraps yellow. I keep contemplating the swap from amber to orange. Significantly easier as well as I can just cut them to match my old TWraps film once removed.

It’s Laminex Orange film, comes in square sheets that you cut to size.

For the second question, there will be more news on that front s00n.

This all aluminum camp kitchen is amazing looking. The only change I would consider is moving the induction cooktop to towards the edge of the countertop instead of closer to the truck.

I really like the look of your kitchen.

Anything on this yet? Would be a huge help to have this panel to get some of the crap I have in the frunk to stop rattling around.

So, this happened:
Rivian R1T R1S k3g's R1T build thread 80AD64F9-D53F-49A2-830B-09D8E45A8481_1_105_c

Ol' Gary got whacked by a dead tree that came down in a storm. It's been in the body shop for a bit, but very soon I'll have it back repaired! This means new build opportunities.

I've got to decide, do I go with another Prospeed Rack? They're certainly really good racks, this one saved my truck from being totalled when the tree bounced off the rack, caving the rack but not the roof in. I like how low profile it is, and having no notable efficiency hit was nice too...

---

In other news, I've started to find ways to share my designs, while ensuring the parts get built right. Enter sendcutsend, and their new marketplace. Turns out you can list parts that SCS can make, and let people just click once to order stuff you've made. The people that upload designs still own the design, which I also think is cool. Here's the garmin powerswitch bracket I designed, and here's the frunk MOLLE panel. What's missing is installation instructions for the frunk MOLLE panel, so here goes on that:

Tools/parts needed:
- a gen1 Rivian. This doesn't work for gen2, like _at all_.
- Automotive interior panel pry bar
- riv-nut installation tool. Harbor freight has options, and youtube is great to learn to use one. Practice on something else first if you have doubts, it's easy though.
- 4x M6 Riv-nuts
- 4x M6 stainless pan-head screws in gods own fastener drive: torx. I like these.
- Torx bit to drive the above screw, or bit to drive your fastener of choice.
- 2x M6 spacers or other standoffs to total ~6mm per side, stacked washers are totally cool too here.

1. Open the frunk and remove the cargo net from the four little pegs it loops onto. Set it aside, you don't need it anymore.
2. Use a prybar (definitely _don't_ use that big flat head you're going to reach for, go get a real pry tool for automotive interior work, they're cheap on bezos-mart) to pop the four pegs that used to hold the cargo net out of the frunk tub. They're pressed into a metal part, so don't worry about being decently forceful. Just pop those suckers out.
3. Once removed, install a riv-nut of appropriate size (I used M6) into the square hole in the metal you just exposed.
4. Placing a spacer between the upper panel mount holes and the frunk, bolt the two outer sections of the panel into the frunk.
5. Bolt the center section of the panel to the outer two using 4x M6 bolts. Use blue loctite, but don't go blueman group on that poor bolt. Littledab'l'do-ya.
6. Enjoy having the sickest Frunk in the trader joe's parking lot.

Yes, now my antenna is through the firewall. Power isn't, I haven't bothered to rewire my radio to be off a circuit controller. It's just wired to the 12v socket under the dash computer.

I'm planning some pretty extensive wiring changes coming soon for a bigger project that'll involve changing that. Most likely going to move the GMRS radio under the frunk tub, and running the handset cable back into the cabin.

My radios are only 50w, so I have much less draw than you.
Hi... I have a 25 R1S, would you share how you got the antenna cable through the firewall...
Thanks

There's other threads on here with images, but basically pierce and then feed a cable through an extra cable port in the firewall grommet on the passenger side of the cabin air intake filter. If you poke around in there with a flashlight, you'll find what I mean without much issue.
