There's other threads on here with images, but basically pierce and then feed a cable through an extra cable port in the firewall grommet on the passenger side of the cabin air intake filter. If you poke around in there with a flashlight, you'll find what I mean without much issue.
So, this happened:
Ol' Gary got whacked by a dead tree that came down in a storm. It's been in the body shop for a bit, but very soon I'll have it back repaired! This means new build opportunities.
I've got to decide, do I go with another Prospeed Rack? They're certainly really good racks...
Bingo. Sounds like a safety step to make sure the sudden drop of 12v doesn't kick the contactors closed to charge the 12v battery they're in the middle of unplugging.
I'm looking again at the photos I took with my frunk tub out, and I don't understand why they would need to touch any of the HV connections. There's none in the direct area of the 12v batteries, unless I'm missing something. Which one did they unplug?
I see tons of rivian bike pads not using the corner pocket on the bottom of it. If you don't use that, the whole pad doesn't lay where it should. @MountainBikeDude your photo has them not used either, I think. When putting the pad on, make sure to do those little corner pocket bits on the bottom...
I have a great condition Interrobang manual tonneau cover. My new truck has a powered tonneau, so this has gotta go. I used it, so it's got evidence of that, but it's very clean and works well. It's quite effective at keeping dust and rain out, and is SUPER sturdy.
For sale in the SF Bay Area...
Bummer, that rules it out for me. I need positive anchoring for everything in my bed, sudden upward forces are prone to happen when I drive offroad. That slide would end up banging around under whenever I hit a hard whoop or jump.
Well, it's been a while without any updates, so here goes a few of them.
First, I don't have the same truck as pictured here anymore. To sum up what could become a negativity-pit, Rivian repurchased my truck from me after significant service center visits.
Second, the very next day I flew to...
I think the prototype rivian with a winch had it moutned in between the two tow hooks, where the center portion of the crash crossbar is in your second photo. Those long oval holes are where their prototype had the fair lead exiting.
If I were doing a winch mount, I'd drop that crossbar, cut...
I have made heavy use of my megawatt sliders. They are seriously beefy. I've put the full weight of the truck down onto them, both sliding and dropping it, and they hold up great.
Yes, they're more expensive. They're hand tig welded, and as a hardware guy that sort of stuff matters to me...
Bring more than one spare. Let us know how it goes, a rivian team took a T and S on it last year and their T didn't make it through. The S did.
I've taken my R1T to a rivian certified body shop, and the guy there told me his shop fixed the rubicon rivians after their attempt. I think they went...
I've had nothing but great experiences at the San Jose service center. I've also been there enough times to have a truck that Rivian is buying back from me. I have nothing but positive things to say about every individual I've encountered at that service center for the 1.5y I've been taking my...
The onboard compressor is great! I used it to reseat a rally car's tire at a rallycross event, and I use to air up and down all the time. Such a great feature to have it just built into the truck.
