Same function as what? The first link is a virtual carbon copy of the Park Ranger parking aid previously available on Amazon.
They were talking about the Infinity Shield.

Nope, once the door starts moving, any movement between the beams triggers the sensor. I presume you “jump” over the bottom beam sensor on your current door.

The 2 primary use cases for me are that that this device prevents the door from closing and hitting the back of the vehicle whether it’s too close to the entrance or the hatch is left open (Happened to me on my last SUV). As well as giving an audible beep until the beam has been cleared. This allows me to park as close to the door as possible easily while leaving more space in front for me to get by.
