1). What would it replace? (Existing car)
2). What were you planning on getting before you saw this?

For me, it would be replacing a 6+ year old BMW 230 that will be handed down to 1 of my kids. I was planning on replacing it with a new BMW 240Xdrive or possibly an M2.

I’ve always been a big euro hot hatch and rear wheel / all wheel drive fan. Unfortunately I’ve had a terrible streak of luck with VAG products so the VW Golf hasn’t been on my radar for years.

The external design of the R3X brings me back to my childhood of lusting after hot hatches from the 80s and am hoping to see these in production sooner than later.

0. ...would you take delivery immediately? Yes.
1. Probably nothing besides a lot of R1T miles and maybe an M2
2. Nothing immediately.

1. My wife's 2door Jeep JL
2. Nothing as she loves the JL until a seriously cool and small 4x4 EV arrives (R3X looks like a winner)

I was planning on putting at least 150,000 miles on my 2018 Model 3 (currently at 55,000). I won't need the R3 in 2027, but I will WANT IT. Might just talk myself into a trade in when the time comes...

I've never been a "car guy," but even I felt some kind of nostalgic tug when I saw the R3. I think it's brilliant.

1) Ford Mustang Mach-E (2021, absolute base possible model - Select with no options other than being a color that cost extra.)
2) Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally

Unless I win the lottery or something, I wouldn't replace the existing Mach-E instantly; but I figure by the time the R3X is shipping, it will be time to replace the Mach-E.

Buy now plan later. Seriously, I would not be able to resist the temptation if I could buy it today

I love the vehicle, but it doesn't really meet a need that our R1's don't take care of. Plus, I'm a little old for a hot hatch.

I would love an R1T in that teal color and with that rooftop tent on the back.

I'm hoping the R3X gets built. If so, by the time it's delivered, Bolt lease would've expired and I would've had a few years with its replacement.

0. Hell yes.
1. Hyundai Ioniq 5
2. A family fight over whether we really need the R2 when we have the R1S and so on...

I've grown to rely on my R1T for its terrain traversing and hauling capabilities, however I have a plan in my head that I'm working out.

We currently have an R1T and MYP. I fully intend to replace the MYP with an R2, and spend time using it like I would with the R1T. I'm going to really test its hauling capabilities (long lumber, trim, etc.) using that drop down rear glass and/or fold-flat front passenger seat.

Should R2 be capable enough for what I need regularly, I'd most likely then sell the R1T for an R3X. Wife and I love it. We've always been hot hatch enthusiasts and with me personally growing up with a grandfather having a Lancia Delta stateside (Navy perks), the nostalgia really hits home for me. Plus, I'd really love to experience a tri-motor R3X. The capability sounds absolutely exhilarating to me.
