Looks like the front part folds down totally flat, kinda like an extra bed.

I find it boring and unrefined.

plus - love the roof... minus - starts at 80k,.. . no thanks can somebody make a more street friendly truck? not all of us need 37 inch tires and 6 inches of extra suspension lift? also the 80k version is not till 2024... hopefully i'll have several thousand miles on my R1T by then...

Iā€™m not interested in waiting 3+ years for a GMC pickup equivalent in price to the R1T. I still have bad memories of the dog ā€˜94 Chevy pickup I owned; swore after I traded it off Iā€™d never own another GM product and I intend on keeping that promise.

I think Rivian was holding out to show prices for different trim levels until the Hummer was announced. GMā€™s pricing can allow Rivian to keep prices high. I think the Hummer is a closer competitor to the R1T than the Cybertruck or eventual electric F150.

I made myself to be easily swayed by the Cybertruck, GM, and whatever Ford puts out. So far, Iā€™m keeping my Rivian reservation.

I love Rivian, but I'll take the truck I like the most regardless of brand. Hummer has some cool features, but with that price Rivian still wins for me hands down. Plus I'm hesitant to trust GMC. Reliability is huge for me.

I think with the Hummer price points we can expect RIVIAN to push up their prices with Options, based on Battery to:
$80k
$90k
$105k+

I sure hope not. I don't want to spend $100k

Yeah if they match Hummer prices I'm not sure I'd buy a Rivian. I think they still have real competition from the cybertruck.

Donā€™t forget GM has used up their federal rebate allotment, so Rivian are $7,500 less than MSRP

Iā€™m fairly confident that Rivian will keep the prices as they are. It would be kinda....well, not a slap in the face, but disappointing if RJ raised the prices after having already lowered them.

I mean, Iā€™ll totally buy one, but Iā€™d be very cross while I wrote the check

No chance. RJ wonā€™t lower prices and then raise again. Not in his character.

I put down $100, but could not order the Edition 1, only the V3. So that puts it out in 2022-2023. I think it is good to have a backup plan, it is not that I think I will actually get the Hummer.

My impression is that the Hummer is targeted as more of an off-road beast than Rivian. A slightly different target audience. I am not saying Rivian is not off-road capable, just that the Hummer fits more into the lifted truck/rock crawler category.

GM will come out with other electric trucks, which will likely be lower end and fit more into the Silverado & F-150 category.

I really hope this pushes Rivian to come out with final actual pricing, I also expect the top end price to be in the $90k-100K range.
