I didn't see anything real specific in past posts about this, so thought I would start a new thread. The navigation seems to make weird routing decisions, especially when there is a lot of traffic. Keeps trying to drag me off the freeways in SoCal when it's backed up, which is almost never faster. Is this just a big city thing, or is the navigation in the Rivians a bit odd?

It was doing the same thing to me going south on 95 through CT through NYC. I kept ignoring it and stayed on 95 in the traffic, after 4 or 5 suggestions I did take the suggested route and got to the George Washington Bridge with no traffic.

Since there was no control vehicle to say if it was faster or not I can’t say but there was no traffic. ??

I eventually whipped out my Google Navigator and started following that. Does anyone know who provides the maps for Rivian?

This is what they meant by “adventure vehicle”.

I live on an island off the NC coast. The DOT is working on our bridge. It’s not closed, just alternating lane closures. The Rivian Nav thinks it is permanently closed…Apple and Google seem to understand ?

Looks like Rivian is using Mapbox. Honestly never heard of them but haven't been in the game a while either.

I think it’s open source. Someone else on here was able to change their map, which is a tad concerning. If I was bored enough, could I make a drawing of Mickey Mouse for someone’s route?
