That’s a solid range for a big vehicle. Do we have any such specs on the Rivian van and how it compares?
The Rivian vans will have significantly lower range by design. Amazon, and most other local logistics models, don't need anywhere near 200 miles of range. In fact, the largest of the Rivian fans will have the smallest battery back because Amazon needs its largest trucks for markets like NYC where their trucks often have daily routes of 20 miles or less.

I read something today that the largest EDV has a range of 210 miles. The smaller vans will likely be shorter range.

I assume this is because the larger vans will be used in less populated areas and will therefore have to cover more ground.

It's actually the opposite. The larger vans are used in MORE populated areas. A single high-rise apartment or condo building can have significantly more daily deliveries than most rural areas.

Interestingly, it was originally spec'd for 150 miles of range, but the official EPA number is going to be 201 for the EDV 700:

The largest EDV 900 is expected to have the shortest range and smallest battery, but maybe that's changed.

I wonder what Bezos thinks of GM beating Rivian to mass production of the FedX EV vans?

Exactly this.
