Gen 1 R1T Quad Subframe Replacement Results

I got the Gen2 front subframe replaced. Somewhat exaggerated take, but basically my truck drives straight now.

Thanks for this. I've managed to get an appointment and have the retrofit done! Jounce lines were replaced earlier this year. They did not replace dampers.

Good drive before, but even better drive now. No more small noises here/there, tighter drive/control.

Awesome! And looks like even though they didn't do the dampers, they did a lot of other things too.

In my case I think they noticed a small leak in the dampers, hence the replacement.

Glad they were able to swap it out. It's a big difference.

I had this work done also (2022 LE R1T) and it transformed the feel of the handling.

I had the front airbags replaced along with the upper and lower control arms. The truck dances over potholes now instead of clunking like a Sherman tank. It drives better than many of the loaner R1Ts I've driven (perfect alignment, no steering wheel kickback, and super silent).

I am super grateful to Rivian for a completely revised front end!

So an update for anyone who has extensive front suspension work like I have (nearly every part replaced)—be sure to have them check your control arm bushings.

The fixes exposed another issue, I’m guessing because tensions are higher with a non-flexing welded subframe, because I now get a cyclical knocking on some hard turns. Rivian is going to replace the upper control arms.

Mid 2022 R1T here. Looks like it was my turn for the subframe replacement. Brought it in a few weeks ago for the rear toe link fastener recall and steering wheel replacement. Louisville CO SC determined I should have the subframe replacement done. Had the splines replaced a year ago to try and address the “tock”. How’s everyone else’s new subframes holding up?

I've had ting washer and splines replaced but not Arms. I've always wanted to whole subframe replaced, but never win that war.
The spine replacement seemed to fix the tock sounds for a while, but now i'm starting to hear things again under certain conditions, not all the time.
Better but not resolved.

Checking in for my turn on the subframe fix on my 22 R1T LE. Took it back again after the first time was a damper leak fix. Hope this fixes it up and its better than ever. New SC in south burbs of Denver has been a godsend with ability to get in quick

truck is in local SC right now getting Dampers and subframe retro completed. Was supposed to be complete today and got a call- during install, the hydraulic system was over pressurized and now needs to be replaced.
sucks but I’d rather it be done correctly and completely than have to come back again.
could not be more satisfied with how the Boise SC has handled this appointment.

Took my 22 R1T to Denver yesterday and was told everything looks good. Have had half shafts, dampers, control arms, and jounce lines replaced up front but still on the welded subframe. Still have 17k miles under warranty so if my subframe has issues I just hope it’s within warranty

Did you have the tocking sound again or what made them replace it? Im in Arvada so Louisville location is relatively close

Tocking is usually half-shafts. Those are not necessarily replaced with the subframe work.
