Great idea! I have had my gear tunnel doors adjusted four or five times over the 3 1/2 years of ownership and nothing seems to work. This is the best solution I have seen.

Just bought the tape and the 15X3mm magnets. Anyone in GA with an R1T want to share (the 50 magnets and mile of tape) let me know.

I ... um ... I don't have a magnet problem. I'm fine. I can stop any time.

My next thought/wish is some kind of light hanger system inside there. I haven't given it any real investigation yet. I'd love to have light/small bags hanging, or simply just keep things where they are. For example the bag with the traction boards won't stay standing up, would be nice if it did. So ideas on this are welcome. I suspect the tunnel liner will be flimsy.

I installed a couple of these in my Audi once upon a time. .
They were a better addition than I realized at first and, I used them all the time. I am not sure what the mounting provisions look like above that tunnel liner for mounting but, perhaps something similar could work for what you are wanting?

Great idea- the linked magnets are already sold out, but I'd imagine any 3mm thick ones would work?

FYI these types of magnets are very popular/useful (3d printing, woodworking projects, etc).

You can get 50-150 of them from Amazon in various sizes for like $7 shipped next day with Prime. Good to have on hand. But also probably not worth it for someone to ship you a few when you can get a ton.

I just ordered 150 6x3mm ones for a 3d print project. It was $5.99. Ordered yesterday. Arrives today.

R1S owner here so, sadly, no gear tunnel, but for this I'm picturing a continuous loop on pulleys with clips at the 1/3 and 2/3 point (and maybe halfway as well) that you could clip things to and then pull into place. I'm not doing a good job explaining it, but the Amish around us all have laundry lines that effectively do the same thing:

A lot of their homes have an 8" door so they put the laundry on the line from inside. Just a thought.
