We have an R1S which is big enough but could use more space. Ideally a Yukon XL/Suburban/Escalade-sized car.

I am very disappointed in the Escalade IQ pricing. I am excited for the Ultium platform to move down to Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon but fear GM is set up for disappointing sales with the Escalade IQ price.

I haven't seen any info on whether the electric Range Rover will come as the LWB-7 seater. It is only a few inches longer if it does. The Wagoneer is much smaller.

I recall a photo of Rivian teasing a bigger SUV -- any additional info on this?

They showed a bigger suv!?!?
Vague cloth covered vehicle on the shareholder letter. Larger vehicle sure looks like a van to me though.

I assumed whatever is above the R1s Gen 2 is on a larger platform.

If R1S was the size of R1T, I would have bought the R1S. Longer chassis exists and it is possible. I suspect Rivian will focus on volume rather than niche for many years though.

I don’t see anything larger in the near future.

Pretty much all automakers have pivoted to smaller cars alongside the rise in interest rates. Everyone wants to build smaller and cheaper now.

Combine this with the economics of EV’s, where bigger vehicles need bigger batteries. With batteries reportedly making up 1/3 of an EV’s cost, it seems to be manufacturers are realizing that it’s a lot harder to control pricing and margins as battery size goes up.

While I don’t have any numbers or evidence to back it up, I have a sneaking suspicion that the old rule of bigger car = bigger margins may actually be inverted in the EV world.
