Something around the wheel broke. And when it did it feels like something is hitting the car. Still drove okay but the sound got louder so I stopped when I got my office.

Someone said the frame is damaged. I don’t want to drive it for now.

Sure looks like the frame where the shock mounts to it is broken. I am sure the type tires and off roading contributed to this. Probably going to be denied warranty repair.

Hey, i’m doing everybody a favor. Im sending out a warning to any children who may come into contact with one. Just as a precursor, laying your eyes on either of these vehicles may give you mild to severe PTSD(only in the state of california obviously).
The wankpanzer will cut off your fingers. And on the so called “Nirvana”, it will scratch you if you touch the “paint”(Spray in bedliner green edition) and you will get run over because the driver has already sacrificed so much to get this attention, why not get a little bit more and make it onto the news?

If you have your OEM rims and tires, get them put on, and then call for warranty service...

Thats what I would do.

MMA says that Rivian would have to prove that those rims and tires would the direct cause of the damage. If those tims/tires arent on it, then? Since those rims and tires are bigger than OEM...

I would also say the frame is NOT damaged. That looks to be a aluminum shock mount, and the frame would be steal. From what I can gather from engineering pictures and specs, I **THINK** the rear Motor Cradle would have to be replaced. But it could be a divorced shock mount, and thats the unknown.

Edit - Found some of the info I was looking for. It is a divorced upper shock mount. But cannot get many specifics about it. It may be a simple bolt on part, or it could be more complicated than that.

Aftermarket wheels and tires aside, it looks like the suspension's been modified beyond OEM. That truck looks artificially 'lifted' from my perspective.

If that's the case, I hope whomever made the modifications offers a warranty on their work.

If not, you're on your own.

But I would bet a LOT that Rivian will not touch this thing, regardless of how close to stock you get it, unless you find a way to get the entire suspension back to OEM and convince them it was never molested.

That account, according to the forum software, hasn’t logged in since August 2021. Though they are probably still monitoring the forums here as lurkers ?

I think the truck nutz were probably too heavy for the shocks and frame...?
