Hard pass. I had an Explorer ST for like 5 months before trading it in.

70% of a charge in 25 minutes? Guessing that means it's got a much smaller battery than the R1S.

Interesting. So you think an Explorer EV will somehow be similar to the Explorer ST that you apparently didn't like?

I'd think it will be a completely different animal. Passing on a vehicle based upon experience with an ICE vehicle doesn't seem very open minded, but that's just my opinion.

Did I miss something? No range projections? No battery size? No power figures? This is hardly news. Just a rendering and a brand name.

I think it looks great. But it's a European version and I'm pretty sure that it's not going to be sold in the U.S. in this form. This vehicle is built on a smaller VW platform.

More details there. The base level battery option looks awful, but the mid and top levels might be okay for people who aren’t looking for performance. After having 2 Mach E’s, I’ll absolutely never buy another Ford though.
That article makes me confused about Ford's strategy even more. So it sounds like this Euro Explorer is a rebadged ID4, but I was under the impression the Mach E and ID4 were similar size, competitors to each other (for certain trims).

From the article:

"Under the skin, of course, the Explorer shares plenty with the ID.4. Ford’s press info was disappointingly light on technical detail, and didn’t outline which of the VW powertrain and battery options the Explorer would take, but Auto Express says the Explorer range will start with a 168 hp (170 PS) model powered by a single motor and 52 kWh battery that gives 218 miles (351 km) of range, but can only charge at 130 kW."
