Normalized for battery size yeah. The Taycan and Etron GT pull higher power values for longer though.

In any case impressive. Definitely why we have all been eager to confirm the R1# have the ability to pull 800v.

I am really hoping the R1s do come with 800V architecture, but looking at some of the recent charging information/experience with EA, I highly doubt it.

It wouldn't be an EA issue (in theory). Taycan and the EV6 will, and would run into the same issues. In general the Taycan is fine. It's just hardware breaking with EA(at least after initial launch growing pains that seem to crop up) .

If the R1 vehicles don't come with 800V charging, it might be a deal breaker for me. Many DC fast chargers can't support the 500A necessary to pump out 200kW. The Rivian Adventure Network will be able to it seems, but that doesn't exist yet. This might not matter for those that will be commuting, but I'm planning on purchasing a Rivian for adventures and road tripping.

I wouldn’t hold your breath on the R1 vehicles having 800V charging.

They almost certainly do not. Rivian has advertised a max rate of 140 miles in 20 mins, using an assumed pack size of 135kWh that's about an 180kW charge rate over those 20 mins. That's 400V architecture for sure (400V * 500A cables = 200kW). If the Rivian was on 800V they would certainly be advertising rates well above 200kW.

Rivian pack is 400V nominal, with a (max) charging voltage of 450

At what soc do we get 140miles in 20 min?

We have no idea, but it's probably not an unreasonable assumption that it's in the lower % range of SOC. I would guess something like 10-55% (which gets you 45% of battery capacity and a hair over 140 miles based on the EPA numbers).
