I discovered liquid in my front passenger footwell a couple years ago in my R1T and it ultimately lead the service center to replace the HVAC unit that lives under dash. In other vehicles of mine with similar symptoms the issue was simply a clogged condenser drain pipe. It could be as simple as that, though I am not sure how that drain pipe is plumbed in these trucks so can't offer any advice on how to check this out.

Worth having them look at it. Good luck.

Definitely sounds like a clogged HVAC drain tube. That’s the common source of condensation in a vehicle cabin.

I just discovered the same thing in my 2022 R1T. I have a service appointment at the end of the month.

I had the same thing. Truck bricked when heat came on endlessly (overnight) and drained 12V. They replaced 12V and HVAC. Hope yours makes it to the appointment - if not they'll tow it in.

I can corroborate this. I started seeing strange electrical fault and climate error warnings on the driver console. Thirty minutes later I was arranging a tow truck to get me to the SC b/c the 12V batteries were dead. Turned out to be the HVAC unit. The SC replaced it and all of the carpet in the front.

I didn't even know there was a leak into the cabin. I had been struggling with the musty AC smell that a lot of other EV owners report. Not sure if that was a chicken or an egg, but I wonder if others having had their HVAC unit replaced had the same musty smell.

FYI, the SC manager said they knew exactly what the problem was based on the warnings I told them about. He also said the replacement HVAC unit was an updated revision. Looks like a common issue for the older VINs.

They should replace all the carpet not just spray with Lysol.

My truck was in for this a few months ago and Rivian replaced the HVAC assembly as well as front carpets. Thus far the issue has not recurred and the HVAC works great. I have a 22 LE RIT vin x4xxx.

How long did they keep the truck for? I think i'm having the same issue as the truck is now smelling like someone threw up in it. I have the rubber mats, and have not checked under it, but will later today, as i may have water trapped under them causing the issue. Service Center is 5 hours away, so was hoping this could be mobile service, but not getting the feeling it is.

Ended up being two weeks but that included the long 4th of July weekend.

That's what i figured. Not a quick fix. My VIN is right in line with yours, so thinking this is an issue with early VINs.

Check if there is moisture first.
You may just need a new cabin filter.
