  1. Rivian Solar Charging

If you are highly motivated and patient, PV-based travel is possible, albeit impractical :
  2. Rivian Solar Charging

We received several of their trailers for upfitting after they folded. The array configuration and battery tech was pretty anemic. It struggled to charge even my EV conversion 914 that had a cumulative 15kWh of energy. Still kinda cool looking though!
  3. A2Z NACS Adapter unboxing - what was lost is found!

Never mind the 12,500 km initial journey from Shenzhen to Montreal! Mine was also briefly lost in transit via UPS. Glad it made it for you even if not for your initial trip. I’m sure it will be valuable for plenty of other trips to come.
  4. Tesla super charging questions

Ya we need some intel on WTH is going on here--so many screens! And go fins!
  5. Eclipse + Superchargers + Rivian = Chaos

They are not all ugly. This was taken mid eclipse, but in sunny central CA, far away from totality.
  6. Tesla saves Rivian - Mammoth Mountain Edition

Main Lodge to Bishop consumes about 5-9% in all purpose due to the substantial decent. Mammoth sucks with public DCFC--its hard to believe they have two Tesla superchargers but nothing CCS.
  7. First Charge with A2Z NACS to CCS adapter (success!)

Right-makes sense. cert they will roll out more available units over time, too. I ordered 3/5 after realizing my Lectron one is way out.
  8. NACS Adapter reservation emails are now going out!!!!

By VIN I guess I meant as a proxy for delivery date, as they typically track pretty closely.
  9. NACS Adapter reservation emails are now going out!!!!

Same -- I'm 66XX. Not holding my breathe as Ford owners have not yet received theirs as far as I have heard. In fact, most of the language from those who have the official one from Tesla is around it being a "prototype" rather than a production unit. Stoked we are on a list now, but I don't...
  10. First Charge with A2Z NACS to CCS adapter (success!)

I received mine last night and successfully charged at a compatible V3 via plug and charge. Just for fun, I tried charging at a non supported V3 and it did not work. What is curious is that the non compatible station I visited is only a few months old, so it is hard for me to believe that...
  11. NACS Adapter reservation emails are now going out!!!!

Timing is allegedly based on VIN. We shall see how the next few months go. I received my A2Z yesterday to bridge the gap.
  12. What makes for a "Compatible Tesla Supercharger" ?

That would make sense. I would imagine it is not a HW replacement, but rather just a FW update then, which wasn't clear in the Batteries Included podcast mention of the "update".
  13. What makes for a "Compatible Tesla Supercharger" ?

I too have seen V3 SCs go from incompatible to compatible in the last couple weeks since Ford announced. In this case in Goleta and San Luis Obispo. Out of Spec Kyle mentioned something about a DC meter requiring an update to enable compatibility with non-Tesla vehicles, but I have not seen...
  14. R2 Reservation complaint - Rivian is ghosting me!

Thinking about seeing my R2 cuz I miss my gas station attendant, what do others think is a fair price?
  15. R3 lower price and smaller than R2 (5" shorter wheelbase). R3X is wider than R3

The R3 marries two of my favorite vehicles; my Rivian and a Lada Niva. The next few years are going to be awesome!
  16. Seventh R2 teaser photo!

    Gotta have something to mod!
  17. NACS still a BIG differentiator for Tesla - not what I hoped for

I'm curious about the "DC meter and CCS module" that Kyle mentions. When the network launched last week, only one of the San Luis Obispo SCs was open to Ford. Looking today, another has since opened. Looking at PlugShare, there is no mention of any down time in the last few days, so I wonder...
  18. Seventh R2 teaser photo!

    Good riddance!
