Spent the long weekend car camping and hiking near Ouray. On my return trip, I charged to 100% 304 miles in Conserve mode in Montrose and arrived in Denver 283 miles later, diverting from 285 (due to a car wreck and holiday traffic delays) to Woodland Park, Deckers, and then Castle Rock, with 49 miles of range remaining, 2.73 miles / kWh used 104 kWh 5 hrs 42 minutes. 283 actual driven miles + 49 remaining = 332 miles of range! Temperatures in the 70s and a strong tailwind most of the time.

Did you just do dispersed camping? Any issue finding spots?

Yes. No issue finding spots. Ouray itself was very busy.

that’s great range! I stopped keeping track but I love having conserve as an “insurance policy” if I need some extra. Just spent the long weekend in Crested Butte and Salida - truck was incredible up Schofield pass to 401 and up the long dirt road to Doctor Park in Almont. All my buddies commented how great the suspension was. We then hit up Salida and shuttled Fooses Trail and Monarch Crest. We even built my buddies MTB out of his travel bag at the Salida RAN while charging! Love this truck for all things Colorado.

I have the opportunity to borrow a coworker’s 26’ camper trailer to test out towing/glamping with my R1T. He may be selling it so this will work out if everything goes well!

Looking to plan a trip 13-Oct thru 15-Oct.

Would like to head to the mountains to possibly make it to see some leaves changing (I know it isn’t peak time but closes I could schedule!). Anyone have recommendations for a trailer-friendly campsite, preferably with plug-in at least? Bonus points if not terribly far from Colorado Springs!

If I want an electrical hookup, I usually do state parks, and Mueller is an easy drive from the Springs with pretty decent sites. Eleven Mile Canyon is pretty accessible as well, but we always dispersed camp in that area. There are established campgrounds, though, some may have hookups.

Another vote for Mueller State Park. It fits your bill exactly.
Just be aware they no longer allow dogs on the trails.

1. The first Dual Motor Rivians arrived yesterday, Sep 11.
2. The Colorado Springs Service Center has it's soft opening this week. This is just employee training. Grand opening event is close.
3. I have never seen the Denver SC so full of vehicles awaiting delivery. Every holding area spot, every customer spot, and all spots on the side street were full of Rivians. And, another truckload arrived while we were there.

Oh, and we took delivery of our Forest Green R1S today...
