FYI to anyone taking delivery of a vehicle soon that is already at service center, they have had 2 hail storms come through. We took delivery today and I found two dimples on the hood at pre delivery walk around, but missed a small crack in the smaller roof glass panel caused by the hail until I got home.

They need to install the parking lot covers like the car dealers down here in Colorado Springs. Even better if they are solar structures.

Seems like they are going to take care of it all. I am driving to Boston starting today, so if it gets worse they will squeeze me in there or I can get all the work done at once when back to Denver in august. Hopefully it holds up and can wait.

Update on my car situation:
So I’m shopping for a new car right now. I’m still leaning towards getting another R1T (new or used) but that is dependent on how the insurance situation shakes out. I’ll know more on Monday or Tuesday when the adjuster is supposed to contact me.

Anyways, my wife was busy running a mushroom foraging foray today so my son and I went looking at cars. One option I’ve been considering is a reasonably affordable performance car so I looked at a lightly used Golf GTI and a Subie WRX. Both nice cars but the Subie was roomier than I expected. On a whim, I also checked out the new GMC Canyon. I‘ve heard many folks compare the R1T to other midsize trucks based on,,, well,, the size. But the first think I noticed is that back seat of a Canyon is tiny. There is almost no legroom when someone is sitting behind all 6’2” of me.

Anyways, scratch that idea. I finished my day at the Rivian Service Center. Talked to one of the reps there and was disappointed to hear that Annie was gone. She was great. Anyways, there was a massive inventory there. I spoke to the rep about my situation and he told me that if I get a new R1T I should put in the reservation then come back to the Service Center and speak to the manager about it. He hinted they may be able to get my order done faster. We shall see..

Also of interest. There were two R1T’s that had tags on them labeled, “CPO”. I asked about that too and it was confirmed that those two trucks has been traded in, however they were not able to sell those two R1Ts. I’m guessing they need a dealers license to do that.

Looks like a good deal. Comes with a spare and other accessories. Mileage is reasonable. If mine got wrecked that is the way I would go as well...
