the rivian employees getting early product isn’t all sunshine and roses.
It‘s glorified beta testing. let someone else have the joyful experience of being first. The longer the wait the more refined the product.

They don't all get expedited either. The most recent two employees I've spoken to are both still waiting on their R1Ts and have been in line for a while.

If you want to complain, complain about Adventure trims getting delivered while hundreds/thousands of us LE holders sit in the dark :p

As a Cub fan I know what waiting is like, however I don’t want to wait 106 years for delivery…
Don’t measure in dog years, or cubs years. Use geological time and it’s barely a nanosecond!

Its true that R1S employee deliveries are essentially beta testers but at the same time, Rivian is making a PR mistake, I believe, by posting RJ with kids in OC interior, the latest R1S delivery to VP and so on.

Its sort of like "look what we got, even though we know your stuff is delayed"

It would be bit different, if the communications and their promises of delivery update, configurator status and many other so called "insight" into public deliveries are made available. Instead, its always they are working on it and in few weeks, but its a mirage.

Just be clear, there is no parts shortage issues with making these communications. Sure, they cannot definitively provide the date given uncertainties of parts shipments but they can certainly roll out the framework and updated estimate ranges.

So are they clueless, probably not. They do, however, lack some sensitivities of their preorder base and how these photo posts are being interpreted.

I guess every time an employee gets a R1S we can expect one of these posts, again, just like when the R1T deliveries started. Not sure why anyone would expect anything different with the R1S. Or whatever their next model is.
