Anyone know how to advocate for a RAN charger site in a location?

About 50 of those 600 planned sites are in Canada. I think that now that the west coast RAN network is filled in pretty good, the next logical step would be to extend the end up into BC.

@Stretch: The RAN locations (about 600 across US and Canada) were decided almost three years ago, and while I'm sure these are subject to change Rivian has its hands full working towards this initial roadmap. McCall was not on that list.

But there is a DCFC charger currently being installed in McCall. PlugShare comments say the projected completion is December. You should check that out.
I’m curious to see how the RAN map might evolve as service centers open.

Boise has a service center now and McCall is likely the number one ā€œadventure destinationā€ from there. Ketchum/Sun Valley and Stanley are likely number two and three. Ketchum was on the original map.

The upcoming McCall chargers look to be 4 ChargePoint 200 amp limited CPE 250s that max a Rivian around ~85kw. Would love to see a RAN there that would open travel into the middle of the state.

The evolution is along *routes*, as they're trying to initially build a network backbone. This is an entirely different strategy than building chargers at "adventurous" end points. From a business perspective, the route strategy is really the only viable option.

I would expect the next steps in the west are to fill in Utah to connect the west coast subnet from Arizona to the Colorado subnet, and to extend out I90 and I84 going east, and up I15 from Utah going north. I also think it's important to extend the west coast subnet up into Canada. All these routes are on the original plan. But I don't see interior routes in Idaho having much priority right now. That's something the state is (or should be) doing as part of the NEVI funding, IMO.

I imagine Rivian is reassessing a lot of these plans too.

While there could very well be announcements I’ve missed, Rivian has been pretty quiet about RAN recently.

I imagine the NEVI funding plans have impacted when & where it makes sense to deploy stations. As an example I70/I15 through Utah was an obvious spot to fill in a few years back. But there will now be stations every 70 miles (or closer) on that route by the end of next year.

I think I recall Rivian announced cuts to their Capex plans on a recent earnings calls without specifics. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is an area they’re slowing spending as other networks start picking up speed with NEVI funds that Rivian doesn’t yet qualify for.

Just one in Canada would be a nice start...
I'd love to see a few in NW BC and especially in the charging desert of the Yukon. Towing a small camper with an R1T all the way to Denali is my ultimate adventure goal.
