I still cant understand the current state of affairs. What did any Telsa owner do that deserves their car being damaged. This is not a political statement and I dont own a Tesla.
This is how divided our society has become. And social media is a big part of that evolution. It doesn’t bring people closer, like it promised. Instead, birds of a feather flock together—it reaffirms and boosts bias. People aren't seeing others has fellow humans, but only as friend or foe (and foes must be owned and vanquished even at "my" own expense). In short, emotional immaturity, tribalism and fascism of sorts. Exhibit A: https://electrek.co/2025/03/20/tesl...ver-no-one-knows-which-side-is-which-anymore/

Indeed. This is literally why my partner told me to go ahead with trading our Y for a used R1S. She was nervous someone would do something erratic with our kids in the car. We were already getting flipped off pretty regularly ( I promise it wasn’t our driving at least every time lol) and then the firebombing at the MA supercharger and other violence/vandalism was just too much to want to risk something happening. The car was honestly great especially at the price point we paid. Things have certainly gone off the rails a bit.

Over the past month I’ve updated what Carvana is willing to pay for the R1T. We are thinking about going back to a gas truck for towing purposes. Don’t worry, keeping the R1S.

Offer 1: $49,780
Offer 2: $51,000
Offer 3: $55,000
Offer 4: $56,720 (today)

‘22 with 11,000 miles.
Have you checked what Carmax is offering? I’ve found them to be above Caravan every time I’ve priced a trade in for us or friends/family.

Definitely worth checking a number of sources. We had the opposite experience when selling the eGolf (better offer from Carvana than Carmax) but the fluctuations week to week were wild - both between the companies, and within them.

Not yet. They want me to come in and I live 45 minutes away. In addition, their used vehicle prices are about 5% higher than Carvana’s.

I’m not too surprised. Rivians aren’t exactly common on the used market. According to Autotrader, there are only 334 Rivian’s available for sale nationwide wide. Here in Colorado, there are only ELEVEN Rivians for sale in a 200 mile radius. This, of course, doesn’t count any certified Rivians at the service centers.

The fact is that most folks that own Rivians, love them. I won’t consider parting with mine until the R3X or Scout Terra come to market.

Depending on how heavy the tow is, diesel is your best bet. I came from a Chevy Duramax and for 23 years, the Duramax never let me down.
When I got my quad R1T I was thinking i'd sell my 15 year old F350 diesel. But when I experienced the range on the R1T while towing heavy loads, I decided to keep the F350. We dont use it much but when we have to go long distances towing its there. Locally within the R1T tow range I use the R1T any time I can. While its an extra truck, this is the way.

Almost every R1S I see on Carvana or CarMax is in contract, so they must feel a bit of pricing power for the Rivian brand. Great for the brand, not great for the bargain hunters.

are those offers 7 day offers, meaning that range is over 4 weeks, Or are you getting additional offers with different emails?

My little experiment; '24 R1T DM, Large, Adventure, 13k miles. (used the 2nd level down 'Pretty Great' setting for condition vs 'New')

Offer 2 weeks ago (3/15) was $56,800. I just refreshed the offer (4/1) and $54,400. I also revised it to add Performance (curious how much of the unlock you get back in "value") and the offer went up to $59,400.

Pretty cool that they give full credit for the Performance unlock.
