    Four Month Wait for Service

If its just tire type stuff just use a local tire shop. No need to use Rivian for it. I use a local tire place for both my Rivian and Tesla. Otherwise I only take them to the Rivian/Tesla in when something breaks which is pretty rare (less rare on the Tesla with its quirky windows/door handles).

backing with a trailer ... not

And being able to back up with a door open would be nice when in trailer mode.

TezLab is now has beta support for Rivian

Name is quirky now that its multi-EV but the company has people with Telsas and Rivians and they love both.

TezLab is now has beta support for Rivian

I use it all the time I can. I don’t like it suddenly cutting off on unmapped areas but otherwise it’s decent. About as good as Tesla on similar roads.

TezLab is now has beta support for Rivian

Personally I like it better. It’s free forever for the basic stuff and you only have to pay if you want some higher level stuff. ElectriFi is/was only free for 7 days when I looked into it (perhaps a bit longer now) but there’s no long term free tier. Always a concern with API access but both...

    Rivian API

    Yeah I usually do something like this: https://apkcombo.com/rivian/com.rivian.android.consumer/download/apk brew install apktool apktool d Rivian*.apk egrep -r 'const-string p0, "query .[^\(]*\(' Rivian*com|cut -d'(' -f1|cut -d '"' -f2|cut -d ' ' -f2

Range Loss in Extreme cold temperatures … Great Job, Rivian!

When I had this early on with my R1T it was because of either seat belts left buckled or my gear tunnel doors not fully closed. Any open door, window or engaged seat belts stops it from sleeping.

Range Loss in Extreme cold temperatures … Great Job, Rivian!

Yeah would have been a disaster in the dark, cold after 8 hours of skiing a few hours from home etc 😜

Range Loss in Extreme cold temperatures … Great Job, Rivian!

The Rivian has a lot more range, and its behavior, per the OP, appears much better (dont leave seat belts buckled though!). Its just less charging options and those that are there are flaky, contested, etc.

Range Loss in Extreme cold temperatures … Great Job, Rivian!

Timely post. I have a R1T but unfortunately chose to drive my model S the other day. I left it parked in 30F weather for 9 hours. I left it at 7% charge (I know, no time), came back to 0%/0 miles 9 hours later. I was still able to drive the 1 mile to the Supercharger and get filled back up (for...

Advice needed: Cleaning salty floor mats

Since I own a horse farm, I'd just have to chime in that this is not a great idea 😜 They do lick salt blocks for health reasons but they'd also sample several areas of the truck. Once the sampling was done they'd get frisky and "play" with it. 1,500lbs - 2,000lbs playing with your truck isn't...

Feeling windshield wipers in accelerator pedal?

My only BMW (5 series many years ago) I wouldnt call luxury. The germans had a thing against cupholders at the time and it was pretty minimal. While I like the German cars, I dont like the maintenance. Above the electric vs gas, acceleration, etc I love the minimal maintenance on EVs.

Feeling windshield wipers in accelerator pedal?

I never noticed it from the AC, just the light tapping feeling from wipers moving back and forth. Not the end of the world to me. vs. my Model S I do consider the R1T more luxurious My only gripe is charging networks hopefully to be solved by NACS support.

    Winter questions

Forgot about that thanks! I've never seen it do this part: "The vehicle will automatically nudge you to switch to the new mode if you’re in Conserve and it detects wheel slip and an ambient outdoor temperature of 34 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. " My wife drove it yesterday in the snow and...

    Winter questions

Hi folks, a couple winter questions for you: 1) Snow mode, is there any recommended speed limit on it or is it just reduced regen, suspension etc stuff? 2) Truck complains about radar sensors and helpfully shows some blocks (though the warning comes and goes very quickly): It seems the...

    Rivian API

Ah my wifes was fine, I have the CLI set up to use either a saved token in an ENV variable or to fetch from a json state file. The ENV variable was stale. All good, both accounts going fine.
