Nice. I tried gorilla double sided tape with my cheap Chinese screen and it didn’t like to stay stuck to that odd dash finish. The EVS display would be even heavier.Have not driven at night yet; but it'll be dark when I head home from the office this evening, and I'll see how it goes. On a related note, you look out the rear window? I trust my cameras 99%. The last 1% I'll trust my insurance.
Scar, or no scar, that is the question. For the EV1 unit (when it arrives), I don't anticipate using their dash-pad bracket. I plan to drill two small holes on the underside of the dash. I have between 5-7mm to work with, so it should be a non-issue. In my little beta-test shown above, I have used 3M VHB (automotive grade) tape on the hinge -- because I wasn't sure if the EV1 product placement would be exactly the same as this beta-test unit. Not surprisingly, the VHB is insanely secure*
* All tapes are not the same; my 'real world' involves auto parts, so I'm pretty well versed in the use of these in various interior/exterior locations + their temp ranges, removal, etc.
