Frunk, gear tunnel, bed, and cab are all full? You need more storage?

Not judging, just curious what I'm doing wrong.

Configuring for glamping with wife & two big dogs (that takes care of the cab), large tent, dometic fridge, shower/toilet tent, toilet, two cots, two gel-foam toppers, Jackery power station (for use in tent), cookware, induction cooktop, sleeping bags, water, various clothing, food, dog food, folding table, two camp chairs, tent heater, ramp for older dog). Actually have pretty much everything in, but the last few desired items might be too much. Basically seeing if I can put a reasonable facsimile of hauling a camper behind the R1T without spending $65K+ on an Airstream or Happier Camper Traveler. Worth a try...

Yep, looks good, and, with the backseat taken up by dogs, gave us some extra space for glamping.

Looks great!

I’ve been looking for one like that. I travel with 2 doggos in the back seat as well and we fill up the rest with gear. I bought a basket and waterproof bag but was looking for something that I felt comfortable walking away from.

Does it overhang the tailgate?

Nope...that was a consideration here also

Seems like efficiency probably wouldn't even take too big of hit. What have you seen?

Didn't notice anything.
Hi I bought one, but am having an issue with mounting it above the truck bed. The precut holes in the carrier are too close together so I can’t attach to the second bar as is. Did you run into this and drill a second set of holes or handle it some other way? I’d love any advice from the original poster or others. I have a big summer trip planned and am looking for as much rain proof and lockable cargo room as possible while maintaining efficiency.

Very cool.

If possible can you post a few more pics showing clearances front and rear and from the side? I'm also looking to buy one of these and that would be helpful. I don't have one, but would be comfortable drilling a few extra holes to get it to mount. Cheers!

Just drill a new set of holes, I did this for my Thule Alpine box (yes it sticks out a fair amount, my ski box is long!)
Also I’d mount it backwards, ie put the fat part by the cab; matches the aero better this way.

Here are some photos with the box positioned the way it will be once I have drilled holes. I also have a picture of it next to our big Thule Force XT Large for comparison. Clearly it is a lot smaller but should fit a good bit of gear if I’m strategic with what I put in. I bought it from Overlanded, they have a good sale going and shipped really quickly. I had been monitoring Facebook Marketplace for a used one for a couple months before giving up.

That’s super helpful. It is smaller, but I think I’m in the same boat in that I don’t need a crazy amount of extra space.

Last year I bought a baskets and waterproof bag, but it doesn’t feel as secure and safe (at least a level below a box)

Yeah, I get super stressed with the idea of stuff flying off my car and causing an accident. I would much rather pay a little extra for peace of mind. We also had a lot of wet gear on a camping trip last year because I didn’t check the forecast for the journey and tarp up. My goal for this year was to figure out a way to keep everything under the tonneau or in a covered locked box. I’m glad I bought it, but it is definitely serving a niche need on a Rivian and will take up storage space when not in use. I expect I’ll get around to drilling holes next week and will aim to post more pictures to help with anyone considering it in the future.
