How do you feel about selecting Borealis...

Bold?
Attention Grabber?
Beautiful?
Fot the Ladies?
Very unique and distinctive?
Can/Can't Live with out over time?
Must Have while available?
Let me tell you why I love or Hate..

I can't sort it out either...
If you like it... If you don't like it... Honestly, who cares? If it's not for you, it's not for you. Nothing to sort out. If someone else get one, it's their prerogative and they are not spending your money.

We're getting it to replace my wife's ICE SUV. She really wants a purple car. We saw the swatch at the demo drive and put it in the sun and I think it'll be a well balanced color and not too grimace-y. At any rate, I'm just excited that she's excited and was open to getting a Rivian and going EV after I raved about my R1T after switching from a Model Y, so who am I to question the color? We're also getting the 20's and I love the look with Borealis.

Only thing we debated was coastal cloud vs black crater and she ultimately decided she prefers the dark interior. I was hoping we could have a his and hers setup where I have the dark interior and she has the light, but having thought harder about it, I think I agree the dark looks better. I had the white interior on my Model Y and, while coastal cloud is much nicer and toned down, I can't argue that the black interior is less distracting and the lack of two tone colors is more appealing. Yes, I'm coping a little bit!
I’ll rub salt on the wound. Coastal cloud is better, just looks more open and nicer. It also looks really good and contrast well with Borealis. You still have time to convince your wife to make the right move!

I was going to try and say the same thing, until he said at the end he’s already coping 😄

Very much of the mindset that if the color of a vehicle makes you question your masculinity, then the color may not be the problem.
Continuing in the vein of Great Gatsby: Video HERE

If you like it... If you don't like it... Honestly, who cares?
Continuing in the vein of UnsungZero:

In 2009 I bought a Tesla Roadster. It was available in yellow:
  • I loved the yellow (kind of an orangey-schoolbus yellow, similar to my R2's brake covers)
  • I figured yellow was the safest for a small car as it's the easiest to see in daylight. (I thought the gray was beautiful, but I didn't want to blend into wet PNW pavement in a car that was only 44" tall)
  • I figured yellow would make it a better conversation starter - most people didn't know EVs even existed back then, and I wanted to help change that.
Despite good reasons to go yellow, I hesitated briefly. Such an expensive car was already an enormous departure for me. Would choosing yellow make me look like a jerk seeking attention?

Maybe it would for some people. But so what? People that matter to me won't judge me on such superfluous criteria. Those that would judge don't matter.

I got the yellow, and I'm really glad I did! Too bad it's not available for the R2...

Get what you like.

I have been going back and forth on Borealis. Initially, it was the color that caught my eye. But then I worried I might grow tired of it after a year or two (so then I was going for CC). Now I am back looking seriously at it again because it's so unique. Just need to decide if I can live with it for many years (but if not, I could always wrap it later).
