As I foolishly make another RIVN stock purchase this AM, it has occurred to me that this averaging down tactic is simply well below average.

I don’t see any real upswing unless the reveal comes with a surprising news, the leak has given us all details about the car already.

This is common on many stocks. "Buy the rumor sell the news" I believe the saying goes.

The other issue is the negativity around Rivian is going to mute any upswing, short sellers will see it as an opportunity.

Us, yes. The general public, no. With the stock price so low right now, it doesn't take much of a swing to make a decent monetary gain.

Stock will probably drop even on the good news of the R2 announcement because folks will harp on having to wait 2 years for sale-ready production models. Unless they happen to surprise everyone by announcing the Normal plant will start producing them sooner than Georgia could.

On Wall St, there just seems to be some sort of stink on Rivian that they just can't shake. I guess it's easier to beat a company down and keep doing it when you have a stock history like Rivian.

That all may be true, but RIVN is nearly certain to drop more just because I bought.
