I prefer 20% on windows and 50% on windshield. The R1S is my wife's car though and she didnt want to tint windshield so just did front windows in 20%. I initially was thinking I would do roof but may not be needed. Will at least hold off until summer to see how hot and bright it gets.

My wife just saw your El cap R1S in Fayetteville! We're really excited to finally see one, although it looks like we have another year to wait for our reservation to be filled! Congratulations!

Cool, my bride is getting to drive it most of the time. If you want to check it out up close sometime PM me and we'll set something up.

Rivian R1T R1S Arkansas 20230610_164828

I had a blast driving around the Ouachita National Forest near Paron. There's plenty of good camping and trail riding. Now I need to start exploring the Ozarks to find some good disbursed camp sites there as well.

Love this shot, and now positive I saw you (sans dust) Sunday in WLR on Hinson/NapaValley.

I also saw an R1S a few months ago in Hot Springs, was dark out so not sure of color but def my first R1S in the wild.

Still hoping to take delivery of my Canyon Red R1S in Aug/Sept!

Spent some time in Bentonville last week. Saw 3 different R1Ts and a R1S.

Do y'all have any regular meetups planned for the NWA area?
I have a June/July delivery date, so hopefully I'll have mine soon. I live near Heber Springs. I might have saw your truck in Little Rock going over the 1-40 bridge a month or so ago. I would love to have meetups in NWA.

@emj5150 any update? I think you said you had a Dec '21 R1S pre-order and a June/July delivery date.
I pre-ordered my R1S Adventure in Little Rock (with a Greers Ferry alt addr) in July 2021, no config changes since then, and have only been given an Aug/Sept '23 date.
Maybe I haven't been "squeaky" enough?
Kinda frustrating seeing all the R1T deliveries to folks that didn't pre-order early as I did, and now seeing R1S orders delivered and even R1S resales available when I haven't even been contacted yet.

No delivery yet. Still says June/July 2023 delivery. I am probably gonna back out because I just bought a used Tesla model Y. It has 17,000 on it and it's much cheaper. I'll just keep my Tacoma to use for a truck. I haven't cancelled my preorder yet, but I don't see me actually making the purchase at this point.

Ugh, the August delivery window estimates just got posted, and they bumped me back another month.
Was expecting contact any day now.
Now seeing “September - October 2023” on my unmodified July ‘21 pre-order.
They’re already 6 months late on the first estimate they gave me. Not s00n.

Any other R1S pre-orders getting filled in AR?

We just got our delivery date scheduled for Sept 15! (Pickup at KC SC) We found a vehicle with nearly the same config in the Shop and purchased it. R1S, LE, Blue, BM, 20", underbody shield. Didn't get the PPF we wanted, but that's ok. I believe we'll be the first blue R1S in Fayetteville.

Congrats Tdfster!! Exciting R1S AR news! Curious when you placed your R1S pre-order, and how/when did you get access to the R1 Shop?

Hey @kdcold Jan '22 preorder w/ 21" wheels. My delivery date was forecast April -June '24.

After spending quite a bit of time reading on this forum, and then doing my own looking around, I determined that we didn't want to pay for the expensive 21" tires and that getting the 20" and eventually switching to AS tires would be the right move. Doing that alone brought our order in to Jan '24.

I also kept seeing news stories (i.e. interview w RJ, I think it was) where they would say people could request shop access and get their vehicle in 1-6 weeks. So, since we clearly are in a delivery area, I emailed customer service to ask if I could have access. (You have not bc you ask not, right?) The next week, we had access. At that time there were no R1S in the shop, but we just checked periodically. I did notice the same trends others have: 20" are by far the most common. I only saw one or two 21" or 22". There were a lot of black, El Cap, and silver models in there a couple of weeks ago. Blue ones were rare and only lasted 1 day. PPF was also rare and our guide confirmed it is usually a bottle neck.

Edit: I saw 1 yellow and never saw a red in the shop during the time we had access. I suspect the configuration is the key.

Hope that helps.

I agree spending quite a bit of time reading this forum and doing our own looking around is beneficial. And your detailed response is much appreciated!
I'm glad you "clearly are in a delivery area", but it seems Central Arkansas is not so lucky. I still have yet to see an R1S down here in Little Rock, and have only seen 1 R1T here, despite there being several reported on various order tracking lists.

I don't quite get your "didn't want to pay for the expensive 21" tires and that getting the 20" and eventually switching to AS tires would be the right move" part of your post though.
The "20" All-Terrain" wheel/tire option is $1800 more expensive than the "21" Road" with All-Season tires option, which is listed as "Included" on my Configurator.
I've had the more expensive "20" All-Terrain" wheel/tire option selected on my config since July 2021, and I never ordered PPF even after it was added as a new option in the Configurator tool some time ago.
Are you suggesting I could switch my Configurator to the "21" Road" All-Season option to bring my delivery date in s00ner?

I sent an email to Rivian last week asking for R1 Shop access, and I appreciate your James 4:2 quote. Unfortunately I have not yet received a reply from Rivian. I'll try sending the request to Rivian again more specifically this time. Thank you for that advice!

My email to Rivian last week also asked them if I could switch from Red Canyon to Glacier White, or from 20"AT's to 21"AS's, or from Quad Motor to Dual Motor, without delaying my delivery date.
Will reply back here if/when Rivian responds to that email.

I tried calling Rivian first, and also tried their website Chat option, but was placed on a 5-hour waiting list so had to resort to email.
Rivian is probably slammed from the erroneous "Updated R1S August delivery window estimate" emails they sent out to me and other early pre-order holders who are still waiting for a Rivian Guide to contact us.
