I haven't been able to get the Rivian app onto my apple watch after the upgrade. Talked to the service people when I had the R1T if for the recall repair and they said it can be a bit wonky with Gen 1. Has anyone found a way to get the app onto their I-watch with Gen 1 Rivian? Any suggestions for how to do it? Thanks

Working great for me since day 1 with my gen1.

What exactly do you mean that you can’t get the app onto your apple watch?

I installed it via the Watch app…

I would bet your watch is too old. The Rivian watch app only supports the latest WatchOS, which is only supported back to Apple Watch series 6.

What Apple Watch do you have? The watch needs to support watchOS 11. I have an older Apple Watch 4 that works great for what I need it to do, but unfortunately does not support watchOS 11.

What generation Watch? it needs to be newer than 4. It’s in the app’s release notes. Saw some deals the other day on newer, couple hundred. 9to5mac.com I think.

It doesn’t show up on my watch as an available app. Service guy said it needs to be generated by the truck first or something to that effect. Could be the watch, not sure what it is but has OS 10.6.2 not 11

What's funny is that "iWatch" is what the Chinese scammers call their products that try to mimic the real one. If he does actually have one, it can't work, lol.

You can add it using the Apple Watch Shortcuts and Complications. I have had the complications setup on my Apple Watch to control my R1T for the past 18 months. Here is a link to the YouTube tutorial:
This says it is for an Ultra, but I have it on a series 8 Apple Watch.

I've had these workarounds for years, but just this morning, using the new real app, I thought, "Man this is perfect. How it should have always been." Far better.

I agree. I was just providing an alternative for those that said they can't get the new app on their watch.
