I subscribe to C+ and have tried numerous resets. Alexa still refuses to control audio apps and only haphazardly works for all other basic functions. It's ludicrous when one considers the level of voice control in a myriad of other devices.

Do you have a connect + subscription? If so; try a reset….if not; then there is your explanation…
I have connect+ and cannot get Spotify controlled by Alexa even after reset. I checked my account based on your post and it's definitely active. In fact I may fight for some $ back until they get it to work. Spotify was the main reason I got it.

Did anyone ever figure this out? It definitely used to work and stopped working around the Apple Music update(s). It worked out of the blue one day, but everytime I ask it to control spotify, it says something about downloading or updating the spotify app, which makes no sense! I've also done a reset a couple of times.

It seems a media reset USED to help but now is not a fix. Please call it in tonight tech support.

Mine hasn't worked since Apple Music was released. Just downloaded the Alexa app on my phone again to unlink, relink Spotify to see if that fixes things. Will report back after I get back in the car at some point.

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I think someone mentioned in this forum that I’m their call with Support. They were told that in fact a fix was in the firmware update. But I’ve only seen one mention of that.

FWIW, I had Rivian Service out on Friday (1/17/25) for a couple other issues, but I added the non-working Alexa control of Spotify to the list. When the tech showed up, he initially told me that Alexa only was designed to control Amazon Music. He said that's what his boss said, anyway. I printed out the page in the owner's manual where it clearly shows Alexa commands to control Spotify. After that, he did some research and found that it is an active investigation at Rivian, he said it would likely be fixed in a future software upgrade. I'm not optimistic that it will be included in the next upgrade, though, because presumably if it were that would have been shown on the Tech's computer when he looked up the problem. We'll see.
