I would look at this from Grizzl-E. Solves the problem without having to be managed by a manual change and not much more than the Home Depot switch.

That is a very good suggestion and one I considered. However, this application is at my rural cabin and I have a one stall garage. I want to mount a EVSE (a Grizzl-e!!) on the outside of the garage for my second vehicle. I'm tired of snaking the cord through under the partially opened entry door and going back and forth plugging in one vehicle then another.

I'm probably going in this direction;

Another option would be to use EVSE's that support power sharing. They could share the 50 amp circuit and if only one car is charging it will get the full 50 amps, and then when both cars are charging they will each be sent 25 amps until one has had it's fill and then the other car that is still thirsty can have the full 50. Tesla's Universal Wall Charger is one example of a charger that can do that.

Some chargers like Autel and Tesla can load balance between two chargers. That's also an option if you can't run another circuit.

Hello all!
I installed this at our cabin:

https://simpleswitch.io/ev-charging/

I installed it downstream of our stove. In Canada that’s a 50 amp circuit so flow drops to 32 amps or so.
Works like a charm! Charges when plugged in and when someone uses the stove I get the notification that charging has stopped. Then it continues later on.

Thanks for the heads up - This solution looks fantastic. I'm going to add a second charger to the other side of our garage (split charger won't work) and going to use the Simpleswitch. Garage has a 100 amp panel/60amps for the Rivian Charger (detached garage). Emailed the company and the founder/designer sent all kinds of great information over.

We can obviously manage this "manually": don't plug second car in if 1st car already plugged in; charging schedules for each car. BUT/ this looks to be the safest route to eliminate the chance for 2 chargers attempting to pull power at the same time.

Not really. The other option would be to install two Tesla Universal Wall Connectors on the same circuit. The charger has load sharing functionality, which means that you can have both cars plugged in at the same time. The chargers communicate and handle the rest.

Did you complete this installation yet? If so, how is it working out. I am considering doing the same thing.
Thanks
