Oh I personally don’t think it’s needed. Even when I lived in the PNW. But some people here act like you’re saying to them, “your mother is a hairless goat”.

The wiper is stored in the upper part of the tailgate.

I really don't think it's in the top, that would mean when the window is down it's not resting on glass. Not impossible, but that would be an expensive design, something they want to avoid.

Putting the wiper on the bottom let's it just sit where it lives and the glass can slide by as long as the window never goes below the wiper.

5th gen Toyota 4Runner had the rear wiper up in the spoiler and was not touching glass until needed.

Already been confirmed that it has a rear wiper.

At 14:19 in the original reveal video, they are powered. RJ is talking about the airy feeling of the interior and the rear pop outs open up.
