While Rivian may seem like a relative newcomer to the automotive world, the company was founded over 15 years ago in 2009 by MIT-trained engineer RJ Scaringe. Initially focused on sports cars, Rivian deftly pivoted to electric trucks and SUVs, culminating in the R1 platform. Now, the quad-motor R1S represents the brand's cutting-edge vision—an all-electric, off-road-capable SUV that blends innovation, performance, and sustainability into a single adventurous package.

Commissioned exclusively for Broad Arrow's Monterey auction during Pebble Beach Car Week, this one-of-one 2026 Rivian R1S Quad Pebble Beach is a bespoke expression of Rivian's capabilities—merging hypercar performance and expedition-ready engineering, with a delightful nod toward the design sensibilities of coastal California. At its core, the R1S Pebble Beach is a technical powerhouse. With 1,025 horsepower delivered through a quad-motor configuration, it accelerates from zero-to-60 mph in just 2.6 seconds (using Launch mode) and covers the quarter mile in 11.4 seconds. Rivian's sophisticated torque vectoring and off-road tuning ensure it performs equally well on rocky trails, canyon switchbacks, or the Pacific Coast Highway.

Finished in Monterey Silver, a one-off color inspired by the soft, golden morning light over Monterey Bay, the R1S wears subtle warm undertones across its sculpted body. Laguna Beach Blue brake calipers add contrast, while premium painted cladding and bronze accents offer a sophisticated interplay of color and form. Custom-forged 22-inch wheels, with an exclusive three-tone finish, were designed solely for this edition.

Inside, the cabin transitions from vehicle to oasis of calm and design. The Coastal Canvas interior is trimmed in Pebble Stone Advantix, woven granite-inspired textiles, and crafted wood accents that evoke modern coastal architecture. Acoustic speaker grilles for the in-house Rivian Audio System are wrapped in stainless steel and designed with a gradient finish inspired by Big Sur sunsets.

Built for those who seek both refinement and capability, the R1S Quad Pebble Beach represents the modern intersection of performance and soulful design—a true collector's piece that celebrates the spirit of adventure in its most artful form.

More of the 50 shades of grey pallet, gooddamn.
Maybe they should go with colors that are of native plants to Monterey, California poppy orange, Monterey green like the cypress, purple like the "silver lupine". 😩

Not sure it's the right audience. But it's a great way to get on the radar.

Wow! There is no better color that screams class and sophistication. Very limited on the interior pics but man…gorgeous.

This is the perfect pavement prince (since I’m a male) machine. Truly stunning.

Tempt…..ing. 🤦‍♂️😳

11.4s 1/4 mile? Why'd they make this one slower?

I’m personally not quite understanding all the praise for this. The description is really over the top and just a lot of fluff.

The two exterior pictures looked heavily processed and almost AI-generated. The exterior color again is another bland neutral, which seems to be Rivian’s current direction, might be a bit tanner than Dune and sort reminds me of Tesla’s old Titanium silver and Polestar’s Jupiter color. The wheels do look cool but upon closer inspection are they are very similar to the OG 20” AT staple wheels.

No actual photos of the interior - just a standard Rivian rendering. It actually looks like the original ocean coast interior with light wood but with a tan headliner. While 4th picture shows some interesting texture in the fabric, the wind blown Gary, rock, rope, and driftwood are again just fluff to me.

Glad people like it, but the over the top write up reminds me of this description of spam musubi (which I love to eat BTW)
